OP it is going to be more in the 75-80 million vote range. The same for the opposition. So glad our founding fathers set up the electoral college system.
We have reached Gladwell’s tipping point. But only one side displays hate as a constant theme. A battle of good and evil is upon us all. |
Deep thoughts (TM) And they feel the same way about you OP. Unhinged and unintelligent losers abound on both sides. |
I drove through a big chunk of rural Pennsylvania last week. I did not see the same number of Trump signs as previous elections. I think his typical voters are a bit tired of him and if this persists, the election is not going to be as close as the past. It is the only way to be rid of him, so I hope it happens. |
Bone spurs is as contemptible as he is weird. It's not every GOP candidate that uses orange bronzer and is a convicted rapist and felon. |
+100 Seriously get some help. People are allowed to have different political opinions than you. |
Maybe you should recognize the reasons why he resonates with his supporters. If the root causes of their discontent could be addressed, maybe they wouldn’t be so persuaded by him. |
Well their hero addressed their desire to try to force women to give birth. Nothing about that is resonating with the majority of the country. It is going to lose him the election. |
This. The Rs have not won the popular vote in 20 years, but can win the electoral vote by appealing to niche groups (like the evangelicals, gun rights and anti-abortion groups) in various areas of the country. They have gotten into bed with those groups and the sane Rs have gone along with it (with a few exceptions who get shunned if they make any noise). The party will implode as it becomes too extreme. Most Americans are not that extreme, but yes, extreme right has always been there. I grew up in an area with John Birchers (this was 60 years ago). They are not evil people, but they hold beliefs that most people do not hold. OP, maybe you have always lived in DC or a very middle of the road area. I am more angry with the R party (if you can call it anger) because they supported Trump and did not put up any guard rails (like maybe a felon cannot be a candidate in their party). |
This reminds me of when I was driving through rural Maryland last month. I also saw a relative lack of Trump signs. One house did have a bunch of Trump/Pence signs with black rectangles covering Pence's name (this was before he had picked Vance). I'm sure the residents of this house are pleased they can turn their signs into Trump/Vance with only two new letters. |
I hope so too but yeah don’t make assumptions about this. 2016, remember 2016. |
MAGAs are triggered so easily. 🤣 |
^ And I'm not saying that the D party is perfect. They have made mistakes as well. But nuance is a thing. If Biden had not had to deal with the aftermath of COVID, I think more could have been done to help people in parts of America that have been ignored for too long. That said, I don't think the Rs are going to help those people (note how they no longer talk about health care for example). Also there is no talk about building the wall anymore. Trump could not come up with real solutions on those things when he was in office because those are complicated and nuanced. Unfortunately simple solutions to those problems are really not possible. |
Trump will lose
