No one I know of is looking at Duke or Vandy. UVA is as far south as most black folks I know are willing to go UNLESS to go to an HBCU cause racist townies without the nurturing embrace of an entire school administration is suboptimal...

Duke is one of the most highly sought after universities by high achieving black students and is known for its amazing black community/organized BSU! It’s consistently chosen by black students who get into “better colleges,” because the community is amazing there

black kids at duke are academically superior to black kids in the ivy league

1) No diversity grade inflation

2) High achieving Black students in Mid Atlantic, NC, and Texas have higher test scores than those in NE

3) Larger black student pool

4) Duke is a top school for the black elite of NJ

5) Duke is a top school for southern black old money

Duke superior to Ivies?!? 😂

Fan fiction!

I said black students at Duke are smarter than the Ivy league, because the black students that get into Duke are judged the same way that everyone else, who isn't black in the ivy league gets judged

Really no such thing as high profile HBCUs. To turn your nose up at Duke but then your DS attends Morehouse is comical.

Yeah, pretty much.

HBCUs are great for a lot of people.

But have observed the same as a previous poster who broke it down. Duke, Vanderbilt, Rice, and certain - but not all - Ivies over Morehouse, Spelman, Howard. Preference for south for AA. Ivies tend to be more internationals.

The reality is that recruiters overlook black applicants from those schools and will recruit from HBCUs.

Ironic that pp left off Emory when Black grads from Emory do better in the job market than all 3. I know several black Vandy grads that are.managers of gas stations.

No you don’t.

Why are people telling such bold-faced lies on this thread?

Upset? 😆
I have zero ties to Vandy, so I don’t care. I just know a lie when I read it.

Duke and UNC might be the only top 10 universities left in America, where there are more black americans than children of black immigrants

Since when does Georgetown have the wealthiest student body? It's probably up there because its endowment is so low so they have slightly fewer fully financial aid students, and fewer athletes on scholarship, but still, though there is a group of incredibly wealthy, it's otherwise a quite grounded student body.

Stanford, Duke, UCLA, UNC, USC, Georgia Tech, UGA, UMD

This went from speculating about wealthy AA families in DC preferring Georgetown over other universities.... to speculating about just how many Vanderbilt graduates manage Quicktrip gas stations?

This happens so often when OP seed post is disingenuous and they schill their own responses.

I have no idea whether this statement is true - but don't forget that the school attracts (and enrolls) international students from crazy wealthy families. And I'd suspect these families are not big on donations.
