This is where MAGA/Republican idiots are going to get a majority of the population of the US killed.. When the next covid hits or when we no longer have mandatory vaccines in schools, yes the morons are headed that way especially in red states. God help us these idiots have no idea what they have unleashed. There is a reason people lined up for the polio& small pox vaccines. |

Again, no one has suggested isolating for more than 10 days. These decisions are specific to individual circumstances. Kids should not be excluded from school for such long periods based on the possibility that they might be contagious (based on a weak positive rapid test). Most workplaces won't allow that either. However, if you have vulnerable people in your life and you are getting a strong positive on day 7 (as my daughter just did), you might want to take that into consideration. Maybe you skip that visit with Grandpa at the assisted living facility and wear a mask in the office around your co-worker whose spouse is undergoing cancer treatment.
You want people to isolate for 10 days? That's preposterous.
My spouse did for 15 days. |
Anybody can transmit COVID at any time because anybody can be asymptomatic at any time. If you are feeling better after having COVID, the odds of transmitting are very, very low. I don't care if people mask, but yeah I think people who think I am a murderer because I didn't mask on Day 10 are ridiculous, sad people. |

My spouse did for 15 days.
Cool story |
Feeling fine has nothing to do with infectiousness. I feel fine and have a dark red line instantly on the rapid rest. I'm not going to be a jerk and go out unmasked right now. |
My parent died last year from Covid. They were dining with someone who was positive, got it. But, people don't care about others and it speaks volumes to our culture. Its funny as everyone is screaming MAGA and it has nothing to do with politics as democrats and liberals are equally as bad if not worse because they know should better. |
I don't think you are a murderer, but I think it's ridiculous and sad for you not to care enough about others if you know you are likely infectious. |
This thread is off the rails with the Covid crazies. I hope Jeff locks it. |
Agree. Both sides are awful on this one. Plenty of liberals are so "over Covid" and downplay it as well. |
I agree. I also still mask and lost two family members to covid. It seems like covid never "hit" home for some. Never made an impact on their horrifically selfish lives. |
What is crazy about not wanting to spread a disease? Nothing. Perhaps you are the one who has lost your way. God help you if bird flu crosses over. |
Feeling fine on Day 10? No, I am not "likely infectious". You are making sh&t up so you can feel superior to other people. |
You are unbelievably selfish. People still die from COVID, and it has caused life-debilitating long term effects for others. If you are sick, with *anything*, you should stay home or mask. Testing, isolation, and masking still work to stop the spread of the illness. FWIW, I had it in January while traveling and I was so sick that I was too tired to even try to drive to a CVS and get a test. I slept at least 22 hours/day. By the time I was "well" enough to be tested, it was too late for Paxlovid. I was sick for more than 3 weeks total and it wiped out my stamina. I've yet to recover it. |
I think it's kind to mask when you are sick or when you still feel like you could transmit illness to others.
I am masking indoors in the DC metro year round at this point, because I have health issues and the past four years has been the healthiest time for me since I moved here. Doesn't matter if it's Covid or something else. |
Are you so stupid that you don't understand how infections work? You spread COVID if you don't isolate. That COVID spreads to vulnerable people who might not otherwise have been infected. It's like the worst effect of the pandemic is how selfishness and recklessness with public health has cemented in some people's hearts as a badge of their identity. |
