If you're worried about having a duplex in your neighborhood, make sure to move to one of the remoter parts of Bethesda, far from anything.

What parts of Bethesda do you believe would be safe if you actually want to maintain your nice SFH neighborhood

I don't mind a duplex, but I would be dismayed by a six plex or if an apartment building went up. Where can I dig into the details of this? Is there any kind of visual aid (map) to show the areas affected by this? What is the path of resistance, or is this a done deal?

We are putting an offer soon. Trying to escape the morons running DC - didn't realize Bethesda and CC had the same density bros/equity bros in charge.

Watch the presentation, there are maps and aids and they lay the entire thing out as they envision it. The first posts in the thread point to minute marks.

Thank you. I watched the beginning and found the women declaring how excited they were over and over really annoying and turned it off. We are trying to escape that mix of naivete/unintended consequences/dogoodery mixed with greed that we have in DC politics and development right now. Hate the thought of running into the exact same bunch. But I'll try to stomach the video

Make sure the neighborhood has an HOA with restrictive covenants that prevent subdivision of existing lots and multifamily housing.

The people running the video made it seem like it was a high school project. Those are the people outlining a project of this scale!?

The ones that are not near anything.

I think that they will try to remove SFH zoning entirely. However, I think that will fail and that they will use the 1/4 from BRT and 1/2 mile from Purple Line (in the new parking requirement legislation) as the areas for upzoning. The message might be to buy up investment property inside those zones but live outside of those zones.

The group doing the presentation has 255 members, so I'm not sure where this is going.

You said it. So cringey! I skimmed the video, but the presenters were so very distracting. I am looking on the website for documents and visuals to review .

You know what’s even more cringey? An adult using the phrase “so cringey”.

That something with a lot of impact feels like wandering through a middle school science fair that's not even your kid (sorry middle school scientists!). Ok.

It is cringey. The comment fits the material. The last 20 mins or so are particularly painful I can tell you haven't watched it, or... You made it?

It's a terrible presentation that could have been 10-15 minutes long. Try that next time you cobble together a presentation.

When the Council invites you to do a presentation, you can show everyone how it's done.
