I didn’t like the speech at all. Overly promotional. And the call to action to check social media saying, “I’m going in the back and will post the album cover on Instagram” takes attention away from show performers.

Plus, we know she is not the one posting on social media. So don’t lie.

I like Taylor’s music. But the speech was bad. No one will tell her the truth though.

I thought is was classless because Miley had just been onstage excited to win her first Grammy and the first thing TS said was that it was her 13th.

13 has an iconic meaning though so…

It wasn't conventional, but classless? She thanked her fans and then used her time to give something to her fans.

There's a certain group of Taylor haters who will call anything she does classless.

Plus the Grammy's social media was teasing a big announcement from her tonight. It's not like she stole their thunder.

Hater is a strong word. I don’t care enough about her to hate her. I just think she’s very low class. For example, she stoid up in front of Meryl Streep and blocked Streep’s view of the performance when Tracy Chapman was singing. That is low class. If someone is performing, you don’t block other people’s view of the performance. It’s like Taylor cannot manage to let someone else have the spotlight for a second. (Incidentally, she’s a terrible dancer, so stiff and remarkably short on rhythm. She looks like a frat boy.) Also, announcing a new album while getting an award is very, very tasteless.

There’s a certain type of rabid Taylor fan who cannot take off her rose colored glasses when it comes to the poor behavior of her idol.

She was giving them the “gift” of an album they can buy? What a gift.

And her assumption that we all know 13 is her favorite number? Ick.

This literally happens all the time at concerts.

This wasn’t a concert. This was an awards banquet. And just because there are lots of trashy, classless people who stand up and block other people’s views at concerts, doesn’t make it any less trashy when Taylor did it to Meryl. AT A BLACK TIE event.

I think the Taylor-haters are far more extreme and bizarre than the Taylor fans. And I say that as someone who likes her music but is pretty neutral about her personally.

It’s funny, in shots of Taylor it looks like she’s the only one there who is standing, but then when they pan to other parts of the crowd, everyone is on their feet.

Lol. I don't think I've deen a single black tie.

I started watching at the Jay Z award and have been supremely underwhelmed. This also reads as a BET event, so much so I had to check the channel.

That performance was like what I imagine hell would be like.

Can someone describe it? I didn't see the show.

How so? What do these “haters” do that is extreme? I’m asking because what I see is a comment about how Taylor did something rude and then a backlash about it. On this thread, a preemptive “Taylor haters” comment was made before any remotely disparaging comment was made about her. And then when the comments were made, I don’t see how they were extreme. They’re just ordinary commentary.
