It's about more than a "division of labor".
Also, it's not really fair if some labor is paid and some isn't.

It's this. Most of my female peers and I lived in an equal world and were on equal footing with men until the childbirthing years.

How many new moms do you know who can't bear to leave their kids behind all day and go to work? It's not uncommon and pretty natural. I spent a lot of time at my job wishing I was home cuddling my newborn. I wasn't the least bit interested in a promotion. I realize other people feel differently. That was just my experience.

People worried about white people and the patriarchy need to take a long hard look at places like Africa. Now that's patriarchy! Utterly and complete patriarchy, far more than anything seen in the Western world in hundreds of years. Nothing like the deeply entrenched, tribal, culturally dogmatic patriarchy across most of Africa can be found anywhere else in the world. But then look across the Middle East and into Asia for extensive if a bit more mild patriarchy than the African tribes.

The clueless purple haired western woke progressive with her bumper stickers really crack me up. She has no idea how good she has it. But then again, progress left = badly educated, highly partisan, biased, prejudiced and with a peculiar form of bigotry based in a weird combination of deep unhappiness and hatred for everything else.
