Practicing their belief by attempting to eradicate other people’s beliefs?

No. That is not worth my limited tolerance. It’s evil

If you want to practice your beliefs, privately, for yourself, I have all the respect on the world. Missionaries and proselytizing is profoundly hateful and violent to communities.

Why? Are these communities so fragile that they can’t stand a visit from Christians? What are you so afraid of?

They don’t want your “visit.” Shut up and stay home.

Who are you speaking for? What people in what country appointed you their spokesperson?

They purposely go to fragile communities to preach. You don’t see missionaries going to wealthy Hindu or Buddhist neighborhoods to save lives. Are their souls not worthy or is it because the poor are easier to control?

So what? Again, what are you so afraid of? That people will hear and accept the truth and turn from your level of hatred?

Exploiting vulnerable people is generally frowned upon.

If you don’t understand the difference between helping people and exploiting them, then you are rather hopeless yourself.

You’re the hateful one. And people are afraid of your hatred and aggression.

You have no idea how stupid you sound, do you?

+1 Who thinks they speak for people in other countries? How arrogant can someone be?

Actually they do. Which is why I financially support Christian missionaries all over the world, through my church and other organizations. What are you doing, besides eating Cheetos and crying on DCUM?

It is so sickeningly crass that I can't believe this insane practice still goes on. And it is usually nutty bible thumping Americans doing the proselytizing.

How about Yankee christians stay at home and mind their own damn business? Quit trying to interfere with other cultures and religions. Missionaries are nothing but disgusting ethnocentrism on display. Maybe it is time buddhists send monks on a mission in America to convert all of the lost souls practicing a false religion who are doomed to hell and will never reach nirvana?

Where have you personally witnessed this? Or are you just attacking a group of people for their religious practices?

You can go anywhere in a country like Thailand and find American Mormons attempting to ‘save’ Buddhists and their families. lol. So obnoxious.

Sad that some people rationalize exploiting people as "helping" them.

Disgusting. Proselytizing should be outlawed. At least with vulnerable people.

How many times have you posted the same words or a variant on “disgusting,” “crass,” or “vile” on this short thread? You sound like a sock puppet.

That was my first post on this thread.

But I'll say it again and again. Proselytizing vulnerable people is unethical. Truly disgusting.

It is. That’s why Christians do not proselytize.

Where have you personally witnessed proselytizing by any religious group?

Regularly, at family events. Evangelicals who can't shut TF up about accepting Jesus.

I don’t know why freedom to learn about another religion is considered crass, but anyone who supports freedom and self-determination as a human right (as the UN does) is not crass.

You can change your own religion, but you can't change others.

Foisting your religion on others - especially vulnerable people - is unethical.

Mind your own culture/beliefs.

You are closed minded and insular. You don’t make decisions for anyone but yourself. You are proudly against basic human rights, weird.

You misunderstand basic human rights. They are for an individual to make choices for themselves. They don't give you the right to convert others.

Who outside of your family has attempted to convert you to Christianity?

Why do you associate with your family if they don’t respect your boundaries?

What not everyone considers is that international mission trips are largely a modern, covert form of imperialism, where religion is used as a bargaining chip for aid.

Disgusting.

These mission trips many times supply the only womens wellness care that women ever receive in their lives.

Generally there are very long lines to be treated by the missionaries. No one local bothers to treat the women.

Missionaries are exploiting the situation to try to convert vulnerable people.

Christians don’t convert people to Christianity. God does. Christians can’t make people believe in God if they don’t want to believe in God.

Have you ever gone to a poor country to volunteer your time to help people?

Anonymous wrote:Why the extreme hatred against Christians.

Christian mission trips provide birth control to local women who wait for hours to get their tubes tied. Many already have 6-8 or more children and are desperate.

Why can't the missionaries provide that support without overt religion?

They can't just feel good about helping others? They have to have this ulterior motive to make it worthwhile?
