No amount of repeating this will convince them.

It’s not a matter of convincing anyone when the GOP is deliberately parroting misinformation.

So you really think he’s that stupid that he thinks pulling a fire alarm will open a door? Or that he thinks a vote is important enough to use an emergency exit which is clearly designated as such?

Why do you have such low standards for him?

If it wasn't a mistake as he claims, what do you think he was trying to do? Please make sure that your answer requires the high standards you apparently expect of him.
I don’t know but I know if I tried to use an emergency exit in a non emergency and then pulled a fire alarm I would be in serous trouble

By your own admission, you have no idea what he was trying to do but you are sure the he is lying. I am not sure that is particularly sharp analysis.
so you will ignore he used an emergency exit, clearly labelled in a non emergency and pulled the fire alarm? How low will you sink to defend someone merely because they are of your political party?

Nobody has disputed that the door is regularly used by Members of Congress during the week. The sign on the door looks like it is just resting on the crossbar and it is probably removed during the week. Bowman's explanation that in a rush to vote, he got confused and pulled the alarm, expecting it to open the door. A stupid move which even he admits. But, not a nefarious act.

Yes, accuse me of defending a member of my own party but also consider your eagerness to present this as something it is not. Couldn't I similarly accuse you of partisanship? Again, you can't even come up with an alternative explanation but expect us to agree with you that he is lying.

No sign on the door in this photo, unless he’s holding it

Two signs on the door and one standing in front of the door. I’m sorry, but I don’t believe that door is constantly left open during working hours.

NP. I believe he was deliberately late and worked with the others to stall the vote

For what purpose? He and all Democrats but one voted in favor of it. The bill passed by a significant margin.

You don't know that they were in favor of voting for the bill at the time he pulled the alarm. Later they voted, but they were stalling for time before that vote.

They were not “stalling for time”. They just wanted a chance to read what they were voting for unlike mindless MAGAs who will just rubber stamp what they’re told to.
By the way it was the Republicans who made the rules that they needed to have 72 hours to review bills before a vote.

You are getting the timeline wrong. He was literally on his way to vote when he pulled the alarm. The Democrats had already decided to vote in favor of it.

That's interesting because right-wingers have been circulating this photos which shows, not one, but two signs:

During the week there are Capitol Police there who let Members use that door to go the Capitol for votes. It is never a visitor entrance or exit. It doesn’t have scanners and magnetometers.

It didn’t stall the vote. It’s not the Capitol Building. It’s across the street.

They WERE voting at the time he tried to leave the office building -- on a motion to adjourn. That was one of two main stalling tactics the Dems used (that and Jeffries speaking).

I know this is hard to understand, but you can actually move the standing sign! It's pretty light. And the signs "on the door" are actually LEANING ON THE BAR YOU PUSH TO GET OUT. They are very, very temporary signs.

I'm sorry this is hard.

The photo of him at the fire alarm was not clear. There was no sign propped up on the door in that photo.

Do they man the door or just leave it open to anyone?

So you maintain they were gone when he pulled the alarm?
