Defending Bowman in fire alarm incident

Anonymous
He already plead guilty and paid the fine. He did it, he admitted it. Why are you all still debating it?

Where is the accountability for George Santos? Or the members of congress involved in the coup?

What matters is that he did it and then lied about it and people are still trying to believe him even though it’s patently clear that he just decided to pull the fire alarm! Why are we continuing to indulge this blatant lie? Just be honest! I don’t think he should go to jail or anything, but we can all acknowledge that he lied. Even that is too much to ask?

You are being ridiculous. It’s not that big a deal. He paid the fine. He was just trying to open the door that he always uses.

Now, do you idiots feel the same way about the many, many, many people who tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power in 2021?

Or is pulling fire alarms really more heinous than an attempted coup?

OMG, I laugh so hard at this tired trope. “I believed him, I was wrong, hold him accountable BUTTTTTT YOUOOUUUUU NNEEEEED TOOOOO”.
No, you are simply wrong.

Many in Congress were not going to certify. There are so many questions re: the origins of 6th Jan and we are slowly getting our answers. And if Congressmen and women decided not to certify certain states, that would be constitutional.

Why still “if he did what it seems he did”? The thing that is so disgusting about this is how painfully obvious his lie is, and always was. That we had to pretend to entertain the notion that this man who represents the government of the US accidentally pulled a fire alarm without realizing what would happen. It’s so absurd and it’s really upsetting that we’ve gone so far that we pretend to believe such an absurdity!

Yep. Even in the face of very clear video evidence, we're still supposed to suspend disbelief that somehow, some way, he didn't mean to pull down the signs! And that it was just an accident that he very deliberately pulled the fire alarm! The gaslighting from the left is just so over-the-top. "Don't believe your lyin' eyes!"

Leftists are hearing whispers in the background of Cruz saying “Hey, Bowman, can you get me those signs? And if you pull that lever, the doors open”. Yeah, that’s what happened…

Watch the video and it’s clear he did it intentionally.

I’m the PP and after watching the video, I agree with you. Please excuse my ignorance, but what what the purpose of a vote delay? Did the outcome change or was it close enough to change?

Who knows what was going through his mind. As is evident from the video, he is not the sharpest tool in the box.

There was no vote delay. This is a door in the Cannon Office Building across Independence Avenue from the Capitol. It had no effect on anyone or anything in the Capitol. This inconvenienced the handful of staff who were in the Cannon Building and no one else.

Stalling the vote could have canceled the vote. They were giving time for the Senate to pass a bill. Then the House would have options of passing the Senate bill or shutting down the government, because the Senate would then be in recess. Mitch McConnell gets attacked all the time, but he is in favor of more spending and against the Tea Party/MAGA.
What changed for the Bowman plan to fail, is that the Republican corporatist caucus that Mitch can rely on for votes abandoned him and were not interested in insisting on Ukraine funding to be put in the emergency budget bill.

The alarm was not anywhere close to the main Capitol building. It had no such impact. Please just stop.

The question is.... Did Bowman know his actions would have no effect on the vote? Because, he is just not that smart so one has to wonder.......

The question is why are you so delusional and immune to facts?
