The sign doesn't say what to push. He might have pushed the bar and thought nothing happened so pushed the other thing. Who knows? But the whole thing is definitely NOT an attempt to stop a vote where he ended up voting AYE.

Ignoring the GOP coup? You can't be serious. DOJ has devoted an insane amount of time and resources investigating and prosecuting actions on 1/6, filing charges against damn near anyone they can show was trespassing. I have no sympathy for those being prosecuted (actions should have consequences), but let's be honest, Bowman intended to disrupt and delay a Congressional proceeding. If you believe that nonsense excuse of his, I've got a bridge to sell you. He should absolutely be held accountable, just like those who sought to disrupt and delay on 1/6.

So where is the GOP leadership calling out their own who were part of the planning and execution of the Coup? Why are they still allowed to be serving in the House and Senate? Why is George Santos allowed to be serving in the House and voting in yesterday's proceedings?

Yes, when the only version of the story we knew was the falsified Republican version, it sounded indefensible. Once we understood the facts, we realized it was simply another case of Republicans lying and generating faux outrage.

What “falsified version?”
Did he pull the alarm? Yes.
Did he give a lame excuse? Yes.
He was a school principal. Of all people, he should be aware of the purpose and function of a fire alarm. And he should be able to read the signs at the door.

The falsified version was that it was an attempt to delay the vote and caused the evacuation of the Capitol. It is falsified to compare it to Trump's insurrection because whatever else was wrong with Bowman's actions, he didn't attempt to disrupt the official proceedings of Congress.

They’re not honest people, the Republicans. They’re not going to examine this aspect of themselves as they really struggle with doing the right thing (as you point out with Trump the traitor).

Here Repos, it’s not difficult: I think this guy should be held responsible and probably kicked out of Congress. Ta da! That’s not even difficult! You know why? Because I believe in the rule of law! This was a dumb, impulsive and criminal thing to do!

All three Republican - whoops sorry, MoDeRaTe. They’re always MoDeRaTe somehow no matter how right wing they’re talking - PPs right now are furiously preparing their statements regarding immigration and inflation.

Tell us what is false . Would you be saying this if a Republican had done the same thing?

I already told you in a previous post. But, to reiterate, Republicans claimed that it was an attempt to stop the vote and caused the evacuation of the Capitol. The event didn't even take place in the Capitol and did not disrupt the vote. Moreover, Bowman didn't want to disrupt the vote, he voted in favor of the bill.

We have now learned that the door in question is normally open, but closed on weekends. Bowman was attempting to go vote and the sign on the door said to push and wait for the alarm. Bowman claims he thought this meant to pull the alarm that was right next to the door. This is completely different than an attempt to disrupt an official proceeding of Congress.

Your last paragraph describes someone who is totally ignorant as to how things work. A former principal should know better.
You are basically saying Bowman is an idiot.

You really think a former school principal with a PhD believes it’s okay to use an emergency exit for a non emergency and pulls the fire alarm as well?

Some of the most easily confused people I know have PhDs. Their thoughts are simply elsewhere. But, what do you believe is the true explanation?

Fact: door was in the Cannon Building and not the Capitol.

Fact: alarm did not interrupt the vote.

Fact: door is normally open and used by Members of Congress.

Fact: door had a sign that said to push and wait for the alarm.

Fact: alarm was right next to the door.

None of this is disputable. So, knowing all of this, why do you think Bowman pulled the alarm?

You pull a fire alarm.
