The teacher overreacted but is almost certainly reacting to whatever happened in the classroom last year- it’s a guess but I bet the parents were bad about signing things, helping with projects, signing up for conferences, etc.
Why would you pay money for this? The whole point of private elementary school is an educated, involved parent base. I don’t consider my K-8 super exclusive but parents are on top of things and volunteer slots are filled with hours if not minutes
