You can’t beat family, folks. Do your kids a favor and don’t push them out the door either figuratively (by not fostering a good relationship with them and making sure they know you love them as they are) or literally (by sending them off to the fanciest college as far away as possible just because it looks good on a bumper sticker or impresses your friends and colleagues). Then they’ll stick around and have their village and you will be part of it.
