All you have to do is miss mass and not go to confession, and arrange not to get last rites and you can burn eternally in hell in the company of your grandchildren. |
Almost nobody believes that, not even most Catholics. Begone, sick hater. |
Rules about heaven and hell are taught in the catholic catechism. Missing Mass is a mortal sin. |
There is no such policy. https://www.catholic.com/qa/may-a-baby-be-baptized-during-lent |
My sister's MIL is no longer allowed to be alone with her grandchildren because she attempted to take one to church to get baptized without consent, so there's that. |
Really, how did they figure out her plan to stealth baptize her grandchild, and then stop her before it happened? What church was it? I don’t know any pastor or priest that would baptize a child without clear consent of the parents and the parents present at the baptism. |
+1000. No church anywhere would do this. A big part of baptism is bringing the child into church life, and part of the ceremony involves the parents agreeing to foster this. Without parental participation that’s impossible. The moderator has already said (in the Feedback forum) that he strongly suspects this is a troll thread. Who spends their days thinking up scenarios involving imaginary SILs? |
Maybe the M-i-L simply threatened to take the kid away to be baptized. Or took the kid to church in hopes of having it baptized, thinking falsely that the priest would be as eager as she was to have the child officially christened. |
Stop trolling. |
Not trolling. This kind of thing has happened. Stop asserting that bad religion-inspired things don't happen. |
Stop lying about what people are asserting. They’re saying THIS scenario never happened. |
No, this isn’t a thing |
|
oh look another reason to reject the bible thumpers
A Virginia youth pastor has been sentenced to 240 yrs in prison for 16 different counts of child sex crimes. The abuse began in 1995 & continued for about 26 years. Wtf 26 YEARS and not one church member said anything and people wonder why many of us are against churches????? |
Illegal baptism rings exist country-wide. Grandmothers wearing disguises, frequenting rogue churches, forcing small, innocent children into illicit baptism ceremonies. Pastors and priests on the dole…baptizing kids for cash. Don’t be a fool, pp. The extent of illegal baptisms may truly never be realized. (That’s sarcasm btw. Whomever said her “SIL’s MIL” was plotting to baptize her grandchild w/o the parent’s permission will not reply with any details-because it’s a troll.) |
No way they could know if it happened or not |
