No kidding - this one is so pleasant. They girls' boards and the private school boards are horrible.

Feels like two tiers in the Top 10 right now. 1-5 are all pretty close and could win against each other on any given day. 6-10 are all pretty close and could win against each other on any given day. Will be curious to see if any of the Tier 2s can give any of the Tier 1s good games over the next week.

Looks like a good number of Fairfax schools are in a similar situation: WestPo looks like 4 games over 5 days; For Robo and Madison, it looks like 4 games over 6 days.
Yorktown (in another county) has some cushion for rest. Maybe FX school officials should take a look at that for future schedules.

Unfortunately this has been an issue for years about the scheduling. There won't be any change to FCPS policy in regards to scheduling 14 games individually. Bill Curran has stated that to produce equity to all FCPS schools, there has to be an even playing field for scheduling and the max they will pay for is 11. It is a battle that lacrosse will never win. Schools like Yorktown have a huge advantage when it comes to scheduling their games where they can allocate 14 however they want. Plus they also get to have 8th graders on their JV teams so they get early exposure to their future varsity players.

They don't look great so far, but they beat Oakton and Westfield so those two can't go ahead of them. Maybe Freedom is better? Langley has Patriot tonight which should be a good barometer.

Feel like we have a coach on the board. Somebody knows what they are talking about. Seems like a ridiculous rule that likely leads to more injuries by forcing teams to cram four games into a week in a contact sport where that really shouldn't be done.

There are teams playing 5 games over the course of the next week. My sone has games Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday and then another stretch with games Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Tuesday

Aside from ruining Spring Break, that is pretty rough on the body. Saw a change.org petition on this issue and really don't understand the logic here. Loudoun and Arlington counties can pay for 14 games for their schools but FCPS cannot afford it?

Sounds like a policy issue, not a financial one. Probably the only way to change it is to vote out current board of ed members. They are already on shaky ground.

Twelve games is standard. I have heard that due to scheduling rules you have to play tournaments to get to 14 games, which is the max. Some teams always want to play 14 games to get more reps. Some teams never play 14 - I think to try to keep the team healthier for playoffs. I don't understand the gaps this year though. 13 days off for LB, 11 days off for Langley seems unusual.

Total interest here(!) but understand the time commitment. Maybe as the season takes shape.

And thanks to all for scheduling information/backgroun - very interesting and should have known it was FCPS nonsense that led to such tough schedule for the kids...
