They had a photographer with them to film them for this documentary so it is them but not candid - they know they are in front of a camera lens and therefore what they do and say is under the context of knowingly being filmed for a documentary about themselves.

I don't get how they allege quitting RF for privacy from the public, presumably from being photo'd, filmed, and in the news. But then they do an entire series of themselves to all the public, in photos and film and its all over the news, their supposed candid life. On camera. It's like their career now.

My husband said the same thing. This is the farthest thing from a private life.

Same!

It’s getting absolutely glowing reviews. I’m going to binge this first release over the weekend. Can’t wait. The pics I’ve seen look wonderful.

It’s really nicely produced, albeit a smidge boring. I think the knives will come out in the second part.

It’s very boring.

They didn't quit for privacy. They quit for control / security.

I’m enjoying it! Agree, well done. I’m not a Meghan lover, but if Harry loves her then she must be alright

Boring but they weren’t that interesting before they married each other, either.

^This.

I find this line of argument so tiring. There is a difference between “I don’t want to be used as part of palace PR, I want to control my own media presence, I want to have freedom to go/say/do what I want when I want” and “I wish I were left alone forever and have privacy.”

Agree completely. I don’t get why that distinction is so hard for some to understand. Being hounded by the British press and having to live by Palace rules and intrigue is a unique problem.

I was pretty shocked Harry agreed to the inclusion of the bit about Royal Family being irrelevant and peddling good press to stay in the good graces of the British public. Pointing out the family is supposedly God anointed (BS that no one believes anymore, surely), is a huge anti-monarchy bomb to drop and admit to as a member of the family. For the first time, I really believed that Harry could care less about his title, and wished the RF did not exist as an institution. Thought that was brave of him.

It is really good, surprisingly. I wish they had stuck it out in the RF because they were really inspirational. Meghan Markle is very intelligent and not just a fashion plate. I feel disappointed that they quit, but it’s also understandable after watching this show.

I'm finding it very interesting. I disagree with those who say either of them is not very smart, I find it especially ironic that those on DCUM who over analyze everything about the royal family would say this. They both seem to be intelligent to me.

I do find it somewhat cringey when she calls him H instead of Harry. Makes me wonder if she calls the kids A and L.

There is a video from them in 2017 talking about how they met and they tell a different version of how they met than what they tell in this one. Both videos are them telling their own story but they changed the details so who knows if they were telling the truth in 2017 or now.

Back then they always just said “through mutual friends.” I don’t recall real details and then all the press and books talk about it being a set up at soho house or whatever that club is called. But the two of them say today they arranged the meet themselves after being connected by friends, with Harry making the first move. Very different than social climbing Meghan

They said Meg’s yoga friend set them up.

Yoga friend could be the instagram friend, yes?

Yes, and this is how thd tabloids twist it up about them, too. "They're LYING! WHICH IS IT, HARRY?"
Stop splitting hairs.

I don’t understand why the niece couldn’t come to the wedding. There is no way someone could convince me not to invite someone I supposedly was so close to. Please, are we supposed to believe this nonsense.

Here they are, telling the story themselves, that they were roasting chicken and were set up by a “friend”. BBC interview.

I saw the one photo of M with her head down presumably crying...Really? If that was such an emotional and sensitive moment (no odea what it was in regerence to, the caption didnt say), why are you having a professional photographer clicking away on the camera and posting it for the world?

I have always loved them both. to reduce the “hating quote on the show perhaps hey shouldn’t call it a documentary because they are making it about themselves so it 100% lacks objectivity. Having said this, good for them and if you look at it as reality TVesque, it’s quite enjoyable. As always, Megan looks beautiful. And I believe in the first episode, you can see the sun setting at their home and it is stunning!
