Harry + Meghan series really well done

Having said this, good for them and if you look at it as reality TVesque, it’s quite enjoyable. As always, Megan looks beautiful. And I believe in the first episode, you can see the sun setting at their home and it is stunning!

That sunset was amazing.

The king and queen were both just too old (not sure what sort of skills they had to start with). And Harry just seems sort of impetuous. The family really needed someone with decent EQ and mediation skills and it seems like they just don’t have that.

Couldn’t that have been Meghan if she weren’t so hostile to the institution?

It is Kate. But she didn't seem to take to Meghan immediately, whether personality clash or just slow-to-warm. Also, Kate is British, so she helped the brothers connect but she's not going to intervene against their wishes.

Eh, a lot of people don't warm up to their future SIL or brother's girlfriends.

Plus M is an outsider, NOT b/c of her skin color but bc she's an American (doesn't understand or respect the nuances of Roylaty).

+1 the part about meeting them in ripped jeans and barefoot -- it's supposed to make M seem sympathetic and relatable, but who doesn't put in a bit of effort and thought about their company when trying to make a good impression on your BF's brother and SIL? And that's even apart from the fact that this is the BRF.

It's almost 2023. Designer ripped jeans are just as expensive as designer pants.

I do find it somewhat cringey when she calls him H instead of Harry. Makes me wonder if she calls the kids A and L.

Yeah, that was cringy. If she does that privately, to her friends, ok, fine. But I’m surprised she didn’t adjust and call him “Harry” when answering interview questions. Overall I really liked it, but she for sure has a little cringy side to her. The Africa trip was super cute and you can see how they’re both playful. It seems like she allows him to live a more normal life and he must be grateful for that. (Road trip to Big Sur)

I like them. I liked her as an actress too. Feeding chickens and cutting roses was a bit much LOL. I didn’t know about her niece which was interesting. Looking forward to the next episode.

It’s a completely self-serving piece of paid PR designed to make MM look relatable instead of calculating and Harry look sympathetic instead of petulant. Selling their relationship as some sort of grand love story is ridiculous. It’s all entirely predictable so this must be the last time they can cover these topics though, right? Let them have their last word or get out their version of the story and for the love of God, then let’s put the matter to rest!

We'll be hearing this same story from them for decades...

Hard to feel sorry for someone sobbing w/a $1600 Hermes throw in the background. This is a self-serving PR piece. They would have been much better off if they had just laid low, lived a private life in CA and devoted their time to charities and philanthropic efforts. You can do all of that without painfully explaining how you didn't know it was customary to curtsy the Queen (your potential future mother in law). Give me a break. She's crying all the way to the bank-literally.

I'm halfway through the second episode. Haters be d*mned. I like them. You really do see how the media distorts something that was said/done.

They had a photographer with them to film them for this documentary so it is them but not candid - they know they are in front of a camera lens and therefore what they do and say is under the context of knowingly being filmed for a documentary about themselves.

I don't get how they allege quitting RF for privacy from the public, presumably from being photo'd, filmed, and in the news. But then they do an entire series of themselves to all the public, in photos and film and its all over the news, their supposed candid life. On camera. It's like their career now.

^This.

Maybe b/c they want to highlight the insanity of the Royal Family?
Maybe because they want to point out the horrors of Colonialism?
Perhaps they want to use their platform to fight against the blatant racism in England?
Or, could it be that they see an opportunity to call to task the despicable behavior of the British press that killed Harry’s Mum?

Take your pick!

So they take the RF's $ yet their mission by doing this series is to highlight the horrors of Colonialism all while benefiting from the titles and resources of said colonialism? seriously? What kool-aide did you drink?

Harry seems like a dummy and Meghan plays him like a fiddle.

IMO, the BRF plays a very specific role in maintaining a stable identity for Britain. William & Kate understand this role and do it well, while Harry and Meghan don't. But that isn't a big deal, because the country doesn't need a lot of people to play this role. Harry & Meghan should be free to do what they want, but they can't be playing the role if they don't understand how to do it. The BRF did the right thing in letting them go.

I was really bummed by M throwing Kate under the bus. I understand that she might have felt Kate was formal, standoffish, not as fun 6 years ago when they met, but now in hindsight, of course there were stark differences: M. was living a carefree life, loved her job on her show, was a minor celeb but not at all famous enough to be hounded or lose any freedoms, had her life of friends and travel and yoga. Kate at that time was married to the future King and was living a life of service, had 2 young children, had been married for years by then, had been ripped apart by the press....of course she wasn't going to be in ripped jeans and bare feet and totes chill. I mean they were in 2 very different stages of life.

I just think by now as a mom and a wife and seeing what the royal life is like she would be more understanding. Including that remark seemed super petty.

Not only that, she was very pregnant when they met and immediately post-partum during the wedding preparations. Do you think Megan asked her how she was feeling?
