Why do the English Royals look so old?

Charles and Camilla look they could be Martha Stewart’s parents and she is in her 80’s. Also Nancy Pelosi’s parents and isn’t she like 90?

Nancy Pelosi looks old, just a different kind of old. The plastic surgery is not fooling anyone.

She is very skinny. A famous actress once said you had to choose between your weight and wrinkles. This was before Botox when gaining extra weight was used sometimes to plump out the skin. Maybe it was Lauren Bacall who said this??

If you look at photos of long-ago movie stars, they appear “fat” compared to the skinny people of today. I actually think these older stars looked normal and sexy at a more natural weight.

Kate looks painfully thin and she will probably become hunched over in old age due to the lack of nutrition now.

I always heard it as face and a**. But just confirming to whom that quote is largely attributed.

Stewart is 81 and Pelosi is 82.

And they have obviously had some work done.

DP.. I kind of agree. The only reason they are famous is because of who they are, not what they have done. Not too different to reality tv stars.

They are supposed to represent the country as somewhat of a cultural ambassador. They play a very public role.

I think Camilla looks pretty good for 75. I actually appreciate that they're not trying to reverse the clock and don't look fake. WM appears to be OK with being bald and feels no need to get hair plugs, for example. Kate seems to "try" the most to look good. Camilla dresses pretty plainly. I think the Queen actually aged really well, without feeling the need to color her hair way back when.

Part of the reason I enjoy British shows and movies is the characters seem so much more believable with their (mostly) original faces- especially period pieces. You can focus on character and not trying to figure out what they have had done.

I lived in Spain for years and remember traveling to England from time to time and being struck by how not-attractive the English were, LOL, at least relative to the Spanish.

No use in comparing yourself to Hollywood celebrities. People are judging her, and the Royals, by celebrity standards. This, in itself, is unnecessary but it’s also definitely unnecessary for you to be holding yourself to that same standard
