Why do the English Royals look so old?

Well they are old. King Charles can hardly walk though -- his legs must be messed up somehow. He looks like Henry VIII on PBS.

Henry VIII was short and fat. Charles may not be super hot, but he's neither of those things...

I think our perspective is skewed because wealthy people in the US and our politicians do a lot of cosmetic procedures. The BRF is old and very traditional and hasn’t really embraced any procedures to try to look younger. The Queen had a LOT of influence on the dress styles of the female royals too, with the insistence on the dress-coats which looked straight out of the 40s and 50s. Now that the men are in power and will be for the foreseeable future, we’ll see if that changes.

This. I am worried that botox, etc., will be the norm of health care, basic grooming from 40 on. Eye lifts at 45, injectables at 50 like a colonoscopy. Remember when no one bleached their teeth?

umm she ;literally just referenced her relatives- who are presumably not celebrities.

Kate is very athletic and outdoorsy, I think that is why she has so many wrinkles and English pl didn't start slathering in sunscreen until the Tony Blair years so she was exposed to a lot of sun as a child with no sunscreen. They are all very outdoorsy, its part of the culture, they are "country" people- its the lifestyle out in the sun and fresh air and even out on water- prince Philip loved sailing I don't know wether the younger ones do as well.

Bad genetics and lots of drinking. The royals are not really good look to start with.

I also think how old someone looks at 70/80/90 is very much driven by genetics. Prince Philip looked older than the Queen (even accounting for age differences).

She is very skinny. A famous actress once said you had to choose between your weight and wrinkles. This was before Botox when gaining extra weight was used sometimes to plump out the skin. Maybe it was Lauren Bacall who said this??

If you look at photos of long-ago movie stars, they appear “fat” compared to the skinny people of today. I actually think these older stars looked normal and sexy at a more natural weight.

Kate looks painfully thin and she will probably become hunched over in old age due to the lack of nutrition now.

This is what I was going to write. The vast majority of my genes are from Scotland and England and I've long looked older than my age.

My skin is as pale as can be and spotty. Not good for aging well.

He was fat in later life but not short. Actually quite tall for that era. Over six feet.
