I am shocked that your child is 40 lbs at 2 years of age. That’s the average of a 5 year old.

My personal record was a baby in a random baby class we did who weighed 32 lbs at 10 months old.
He couldn’t crawl yet because of his size. His parents were giants.

Wow, MYOB. I have one of those tiny 10 yo and her pediatrician said she was perfectly healthy. She comes from a family that is naturally slim and we are all late bloomers. I was just like this as a kid and am a normal healthy adult. And we eat a ton.

The warring posts between the people bragging about their giant kids and the people bragging about their teeny kids, is hilarious to witness.

I haven't seen anyone bragging. I have seen a lot of people either fat or tiny shaming, though.

Not even the winking emoji clued you into the sarcasm?

Would you sarcastically make comments about people being overweight? Probably not. Underweight people are just as sensitive about such comments. Something to keep in mind.

Earlier in the thread someone made exact such comments about 10 year olds being unhealthy because they’re too heavy. And it wasn’t sarcastic. PP was just turning it around. Yet you only found it offensive when it was about kids being too small. Wonder why.

Actually no, I actually chimed in to say there was a huge range of kids that is normal at this age and that some kids have really dense muscle and bone. So no, I didn't only find it offensive when people picked on smaller kids.

My 10 year old was nearly 90 pounds and very thin. I find it hard to believe that if she put on around 10 more lbs she would have been unhealthy.

You are clueless.

No. My 11 year old is 77 pounds, tall and thin but not VERY thin. So someone a year younger and 13 pounds heavier is not “very thin.”

Clearly you have no clue about body types.

This is such a BS thread. I have two girls on the opposite ends of the growth spectrum. They are about two years apart and the youngest (at 10) is taller and heavier than her sister. One has always been below the 10% in weight/height and the other one always over 90%. According to some, I must not feed one enough and the other one too much.

The shaming mixed with a comment about how their kids are the opposite, comes off as bragging to me.

mine are 13, almost 14 now and are about 5'5" and 110lb and 5'2" and 76lb-ish. They were 4'8" and 86lb and 4'5" and 65lb. One has always been more of a muscular build, one smaller. Both are athletes
