How much does your ten year old weigh?

Yes, I’ve seen the percentiles, but they were created years ago. Wondering what real ten year olds weigh, and how tall they are.

and you think you'll get better data points by asking random strangers on DCUM? smh

It can vary wildly, as you know, OP.

DD is 4'7" and 80lbs at 12 year old. So smaller than average.
My son weighed far less at the same age. Their classmates sometimes look like adults!

4ft5in and 61lbs at 10 (girl who has always been small for age).

DD is just over 5 ft and weighs a little over 100 pounds. She is almost 11.

My kid was a little chunky last year when she turned 10 (the pandemic was not great for her diet/excercise levels). She was 4'8" and weighed 91 pounds.

For the first 3 years of her life we struggled to get her above the 5th percentile for weight so it's been a real turnaround!

At that age they are all over the place!

DD is 83 pounds, and she's probably about average, but she towers over some of her friends, but also has friends who are literally taller than I am.
And it's just going to get crazier for the next few years.

(An average 7th grade class usually makes me laugh out loud looking at the differences)

My niece is 10 (turns 11 in December) and is 4'11" and 90 pounds.

So you think the percentiles were done when people were thinner and want justification for your kid being overweight?

No my child is underweight (2nd percentile) and I wanted to put it in real life context. I can’t just ask other parents what their kids weigh but I’m curious. The amounts listed so far are interesting and sound very high compared to my child, but I shouldn’t be surprised.

Of course it’s this.

But the answer, my 10 year old DD weighs 60 pounds and is 57 inches tall.

DD just turned 10 and is 5'1" and weights 86 lbs. We just had her well-visit.

Are you concerned about her weight? That’s below the first percentile for BMI. What does your pediatrician say?

My child will be 10 in December - boy. Just over four feet tall and @ 50 lbs. Low percentiles for sure.
