Has anyone been offered a slot from a wait list?

I emailed and was told no slots have opened up for 1st grade Chinese at Rustin. They have made no offers yet from the waitlist for first grade. There has been movement on the kindergarten waitlist at Rustin. I don’t know about other programs.

Hmmmm....I'm curious as to what has historically been the case for 1st grade CI WL holders.
How far does it typically go?

For SC they invited up to #28 WLs as of now.

We are #8 on waitlist for 1st grade at Sligo. Seems like that puts us in range but I really have no idea! Second round invitations should be by end of May?

My son was #8 for K at Sligo last year. He got a spot I think right after Memorial Day (or maybe end of first week of June). He’s loving it.

Thank you for posting! Our son is set to start the french immersion also K and i'm getting a little worried about the preschool to K transition PLUS the language transition

It will be fine. The two K teachers, have more than 50 years of teaching K immersion between them (over 25 each!). They are absolute pros.

No, they are always maxed out at the county ratio for the grade. Nothing has changed for next year.

I would think #1 on the WL would’ve been notified as they currently have 26 in Kindergarten

The last time I checked Maryvale had made it to 11 on the WL for K, and the classes were then full.

No, they would have offered a spot to one person (or more if there were spots). #1 on the WL would only be notified if one of those families declined.

no the only difference is its harder than kindergarten bc you have a fuller group so less openings
