| Do you have to apply each year? If you were not selected the previous year, are you automatically entered in this year's lottery? |

Yes, you have to apply each year. |

If your child does not have a background in the language, the only entry years are K and 1. So, let's say you are trying to get into Spanish at Rock Creek Forest. For kindergarten, your chances are 50/X where X is the number of folks in the lottery. For first it's maybe 3/Y, where Y is the number who put their kids back in the lottery. |

what number? If you have a low waitlist number, especially for K, you’re likely to get in. |

Depends on the program and the grade. If it's for K for Page, you have a good chance to get in if you're #20, but for Rock Creek Forest, you might need to be #1-3. |

Bayard Rustin 55 Potomac 45 Surprised were lower on the list for potomac. Not that it matters bc we have no chance at either! |
