Are you seeing a covid uptick?

My husband is the only one who went to the doctor, so his case will be the only one reported. There doesn’t seem to be a system in place at this point to report positives from home tests. I put very little trust in the official case numbers.

After our family all tested positive this week on rapid tests at home, we went for PCR tests. Not to confirm, but so our cases would be counted.

Why? Our doctor recommended it and it took 20 minutes and was free.

Thank you - it was the right thing to do. Ignore the degenerates who only do for themselves.

Some of us need to travel, and we already lost 2 years.

You have not lost anything. And you don’t need to travel, you want to.

Tell that to people who haven't seen their family in over 2 years. Except for our nuclear family everybody is abroad. But I guess being able to see family means nothing to you.

I have not seen my family. I rarely see anyone s I cannot risk Covid. Except groceries or pharmacy, I have been home. My kids are in virtual. I have lost far more than most.

What school district is still doing virtual instruction?

Mcps has virtual academy as an option this year. Guessing that's what they mean.

Virtual Virginia has been around for ages. Plus there are virtual charters in Dc.

I think the person who asked the question doesn’t want actual facts; just wants to be difficult.

yeah virtual instruction is a trigger for some on here.

And I’ve heard from several super covid safe friends that they recently tested positive.

Anyone else seeing an uptick?

Note that the January spike quietly killed 100,000 people. It probably killed more people than Russia has killed in Ukraine.

Now, Wash. U., Georgetown and Johns Hopkins all have big outbreaks. I think that means we already have a big, national surge but nobody is testing.

So, if January killed 100,000, maybe this spike will kill 150,000.

Sounds like a personal choice. Nobody forced you to do these things yet you are acting like you need a badge of honor for how much you have given up. You still have your kids in virtual?? Why are you doing this to them?

Why wouldn’t we? Be thankful you don’t have my health issues. My kids already lost one parent, isn’t that enough? Will you take them? Of course not! So, it’s in their bests interest for me to stay alive.

What condition do you have that would make covid so devastating to you?

What happened to make you like this?

With that thinking though you would have to stay home/keep them in virtual school forever. Because there are other things that can kill someone other than Covid (it's amazing how people seem to forget that people got sick before 2020). So is it just Covid you are scared of? Because that's anxiety. It's not rational.
- signed someone who's entire vaccinated family got Covid TWICE (including a baby) and just had the stomach virus a couple weeks ago and would take Covid over that every single time.

Someone in deep denial about how they've just exposed their baby to a life of debilitating microclots.

This worst thing about my family's recent experience having covid, both vaccinated snd unvaccinated, was my recalling all the fear-mongering and horror stories I've read on dcum. It was a stressful 48 hours of fever and fatigue for each person, regardless of vaccine status. The family member who was most recently boosted was actually run down for 3 additional days after the fever broke.

I remain un-va&&ed and had to travel due to family emergency over Christmas. In and out of ERs, rehabs, hospices, etc. and no Covid and no issues.

No, I’m a teacher in PGCPS.
Our school district took a lot of heat for shutting down for 2 1/2 weeks and moving to virtual around Christmas! We brought all our virtual students back in January and I just didn’t know that Montgomery County’s option to be virtual was continuing all year.

You can also report to VDH via the Covid tracker app.

Actually I think a lot of people still test around here for mild symptoms (partly because schools/daycares still require) so we will probably see a nice regional spike, which will make the DMV crew lose their minds to have higher case rates than Texas.
