What countries are still requiring negative test to enter? Other than the US? Ots getting COVID while on vacation and being unable to return that is the big worry. |
We just like triggering you. It works and is entertaining

| I know of 4-5 people, all in the DC area, who got positive tests this weekend. All are pretty miserable-- high fevers and body aches. So while no one yet is on their way to the hospital (and hopefully will stay that way), it's not been just a cold for them. And these are all young people--mid-20s to mid-40s. All boosted. |
Exactly. |
Do you have a link that actually shows a study with a sample size of an actual reasonable amount of people to show this happens? Or are you just hoping people's kids die? |
| When one of our family had a positive PCR, we received a phone call from a contract tracer who noted that others in our family had tested positive via an at home test. I’m assuming those were then reported to the state even if it wasn’t documented in a lab or doctor’s office. |
I think a lot of people have forgotten what typical illnesses are like. |
Wooosh.... |
My 81 year old father had COVID (for the first time) a few weeks ago. He was vaxxed, but not boosted. My mom just tested positive for the first time (vaxxed and boosted, but past six months) early last week. The woman she got it from, who SWORE up and down she just had a cold at an outing, just died of COVID this morning. |

my 7 year tested positive. He's sick with a high fever.
Me, DW and DD are all negative. The frustrating thing is WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! We told people we were in contact with and are staying home for a week. But this is more our own judgment than anything out there because the guidance is contradictory (esp. in Virginia). It is about to get VERY BAD. Stay home and be safe folks. This version of covid flying around DC (much of congress that tested apparently have it). |
I'm sorry that your child is sick. But what do you need someone to tell you to do? Go to the doctor if it warrants it. Stay home if you are ill. Follow the CDC guidance on close contacts. Why is this hard? |
Because. 1. The CDC guidelines are full of dead links that are supposed to have specific guidance as to what we should do in circumstances where someone is positive in a household and symptomatic and the rest are negative and show no symptoms. 2. The county has vague guidance referring to the CDC. 3. The schools refer to the county. 4. We called our ped but they haven't called us back and honestly this is a waste of their time. We shouldn't have to bother a provider to figure out what do. I am baffled by the public health failure that seems almost systemically organize to confuse and piss people off. It is almost like the plan was to sow discord and get people in corners on masks/no masks blah blah instead of just telling us what to do and we simply follow it. I HATE how vague and confusing everything is. It is almost by design so anyone can interpret things in a manner they see fit (which is inconsistent). |

There is an uptick in our area. In fact, Maryland is in the top 10 nationwide for infection rate. Fortunately, our cases are still relatively low, and we haven't seen much of an increase in hospitalizations.
For anyone trying to avoid or delay getting COVID as long as possible, you should look at the CDC community transmission map. Unlike the new framework, this is a more accurate look at the level of community spread. Note that Montgomery County is an area of substantial spread, so it is not surprising so many of us have COVID illness in our circles. As was the case with the first Omicron variant, cases have ticked up in the Northeast and are spreading south. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view?list_select_state=Maryland&data-type=Risk&null=Risk |
Much of Congress?! |
https://www.usnews.com/news/national-news/articles/2022-04-07/pelosi-tests-positive-for-covid-19-as-cases-rise-among-lawmakers-government-officials And this is only the people who are admitting/reporting covid exposure in congress/government. It is likely much worse because many don't feel the need to report it or test, etc. |
