Bridgerton, Season 2

I didn’t like the way Daphne was played/cast in the last series, she was just a little too perfect & boring, but the character herself was meh. Duke was hot and the show itself was fun.

This season is fine, but because of the first season, expectations are high. The female lead in this is one of my favorites, but one of the changes I’ve heard they made about the relationship between the sisters is a bit disappointing, but I’ll see how it plays out.

I really think the big difference in how they are being received is the first season came out pre-vaccination early winter, so everyone was home. This is coming out early spring, when we’ve all collectively decided we’re living more like we did pre-Covid. So of course people have more going on than they did in December of 2020.

I didn't mind Simon and Daphne for thr first half of Season 1, but once they got married their characters just became insufferable.

I'm only 3 episodes in but I'm generally liking Season 2. The family scenes were fun.

I don’t like Kate Sharma so far. Weird look and accent. Doesn’t go with Antony at all. Horrible casting.

The A and B brothers look so much alike I can barely tell them apart.Worse, they refer to each other as "Brother". Reminds me of Downton Abbey and Mary's suitors. I could barely care about them because I couldn't tell who was who.

Completely disagree, she’s stunning and so much more interesting than Daphne was.

The female lead is gorgeous, but she’s only playing the character in a very stick up her ass, one dimensional way. There’s zero chemistry because she’s been irate and aggressive since episode 1.

Without sexual tension or romance, this show is boring.

I’m shocked that they didn’t proactively build lust and romance into the show starting with the first episodes. Big mistake.

I disagree…I think there’s more chemistry than last season. Again, I had a hard time last season with the fact that the main actress looked like a child.

The young Sharma looks like a child. And the lead guy looks very old compared to her. He looks much older than Rege Jean.

The actress playing Edwina Sharma reminds me so much of Brittany Murphy!

I am hate-watching this, much as I hate-watched season 1. The best part of this show are the opening credits.

Yes! She’s like an Indian Brittany Murphy.

I have nearly finished and I like it a lot. Yes, it’s not as racy as the first but it’s still entertaining.

Unpopular opinion but I did not like and did not finish season 1 because …I didn’t find the duke attractive like at all, and didn’t want to see the sex scenes. The facial hair, the perfect combed eyebrows, the way he was talking all affected just didn’t fit with my vision, not my type. I’m so surprised people think he’s hot.

Season 2 is a snooze fest. Agree that edwina sharma looks like Indian Brittany Murphy. The lead actress while better looking can’t act. Not that attracted to any of the Bridgerton brothers. Eloise actress has worst posture ever. First season actor who played duke was hot. So t care enough about remaining siblings. Poor casting job.

I feel like I’m watching the taming of the shrewd (or 10 things I hate about you). This is not as fun as last season.

Also I miss the duke. So hot.

Season 2 is boring and ridiculous. Only wonderful aspect were the dresses. The dresses were gorgeous and kept my attention.

I read all the books several times. Loved most of them. The first season was good and close enough to original story and realities regency period to be believable and yet updated and modern enough to add fun and sparkle.

Season 2 story line changes and the complete disregard for all Regency behavioral norms ruins the tale completely. The Indian angle is awful and makes no sense. The changes to the Pall Mall game made me want to cry - one if the funniest parts of the book(s) and they left those particular moves out except for a couple. Just an utterly disappointment.

Oh and Eloise is portrayed horrifically. She is dressed and coiffed as ugly as possible. Her “rebellion” is trite and far too modern. Eloise’s book was a bit dry but they have made her thoroughly unlikable in the tv show.

Eloise definitely stood out as being inconsistent with everyone else. The way they kept her hair down in parts. I don’t believe even the most rebellious young woman would have gone out with her hair down during this time period.

She is very pretty and very very bad in this role. Complete mis-cast, no chemistry, ridiculous story changes and horrible acting. UGH. Season 2 storyline is now atrocious. Book was great.

Just started tonight. Can someone tell me who Season 3 will focus on? Please tell me Pen and Colin!
