Apart from that scene, I like how she speaks her mind but holds back after she says her piece and lets her children make mistakes. And I like to see a woman with wrinkles and not overpowering makeup - she's beautiful!

She's a stunning woman.
I think the older actresses are prettier than the ones playing their daughters.

Yes, Edwina's mom is a knockout. And I love the cuts on Lady Featherington's dresses. Must be hard to get in and out, I would guess, but that's why peeler had ladies in waiting maybe?

And, Lady Danbury is also gorgeous and such a fun character. Did they ever explain what happened to her spouse and whether she has kids or why not?

I don’t believe they have given much of Lady Danbury’s backstory, other than her godmother role to Simon. I agree she’s a great character and I hope they do in a future season!

There's going to be a spinoff with back stories with a young Lady Danbury, Queen, and mom Bridgerton. https://tvline.com/2022/05/03/bridgerton-spinoff-queen-charlotte-preview-spoilers-netflix/

Ooh! Love these characters!

Ewwww. There was no chemistry. Season 2 was dreadful. Daphne and Simon were loads sexier and more fun. Kate and Anthony were just an awful combo. Even looked bad together.

+1 I said this before the season even started. Kate doesn’t match with Anthony at all. Horrible casting.

What are you people talking about? How should they “match?” They’re two hot young people. They look great together. I don’t find the romance compelling but it’s not because of how they look.

I agree, and think they matched just fine.

Eh, they don't look good together. She is broader in the shoulders then he is. He is too tiny for her.

Yes! She looks like a horse!

+1 Horse face.

How? Sarah Jessica Parker has horseface not this lady.

Her nose I doesn’t match her face. She needs a nose job.

Omg are these real thoughts that real people have? Earnestly enough to write them down and post them on the internet?

I agree the comments are a half step away from being racist. None of the guys are really hot other than from the first season but where are the comments about them?

Totally. That comment about how they should have chosen Pryanka Chopra instead because she’s more “classically attractive”… how do you not interpret that comment as “they should have case an actress who looked closer to White?” I suppose it could just be a coincidence that they picked an Indian actress who could pass for white, but goodness.

DP. You people sound absurd. Pryanka Chopra is a beautiful Indian woman - she doesn't look white at all! I understood what that poster was saying. You simply want to call out racism where none exists - and it's beyond tiresome.

Pryanka is indeed a beautiful Indian woman. She is a light-skin Indian woman with white features (some via plastic surgery). It’s as though she was a white woman dipped in caramel. The actress who played Kate in Bridgetown is also a beautiful Indian woman who is dark skin, but some people cannot see her beauty because they cannot get beyond her complexion. Apparently the original poster who mentioned Pryanka does not believe dark skin Indians are beautiful and should be represented. Unfortunately, the Lighter skin of every race is more aesthetically preferable to white people and even many Indians. And that my dear is bull shit and racist.

I was the person who called out the “classical beauty” comment as a little suspect, but after that posters “big head” comment I’m actually convinced I was off base! Same with the Idris Elba fan.

But people who say “ugh it’s always race with you social justice warrior comments” seem a little too defensive about being questioned on their prejudice. I don’t know their hearts or their actions but they should realize that yes, sometimes we white people have unconscious bias and sometimes it really is about race.

Indian here, and the problem is that Simone Ashley would never make it in Indian cinema either, since Indians themselves prefer white looking actresses. We are a self hating culture.
Remnants of being colonized for 300 years I guess. Anyway, I loved Simone Asley and C.Chandran the actress who played Edwina - they look like more typical Desi people than Priyanka. I also thought they did great, acting-wise.

But I think the script writers really messed up here - the book's basic plot was stronger, and there was just a lot more tension in the novel. Also, definitely agree it needed to be a lot steamier (maybe not as much as season 1 though which was like soft porn)

That might be part of it, but there has been "racism" inside India far predate the British, as genetic studies show that intermarriage within caste has been strong, and that the upper castes share more in common with European populations.
"Analysis of these data demonstrated that the upper castes have a higher affinity to Europeans than to Asians, and the upper castes are significantly more similar to Europeans than are the lower castes."
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC311057/

"When did caste become the dominant norm for ethnic communities of a region? 70 generations ago, or nearly 1,500 years ago."

I find her boring. Wouldn’t want or need a backstory.

Eh, the guy who played Anthony is a much better actor and I preferred his character. I also enjoyed Daphne more in the sibling dynamic than the romantic one. Rege-Jean will probably just make a few appearances anyway, which is fine.

Yep. He should have learned from Sam Heughan of Outlander: fans love the show and the specific character…not *you.*

Ride the train as long as you can.

And at the risk of stating the obvious: fans loved the sex scenes in season 1. If he and the girl negotiate no nudity, etc. then fans will lose interest. Season 2 was dull because of it. Season 1 of outlander was steamy. Season 2 had some sexy time. By season 3, not much of anything.

He did do two movies fwiw. I do hope he comes back but they’ve already got the ball rolling on season three. Will be interesting to see what happens. I like him.

I don't understand his appeal. His character is a jerk and he is only so-so. The guy who plays Anthony is also so-so but Anthony is a gentleman and that is his appeal.

+1 yep, season 2 Bridgerton was a snooze fest. Bring back Rege!

I totally agree. They don't match at all. Plus the chemistry is forceful. Anthony atleast seems attracted to Kate but Kate shows no emotions.. no attraction apart from heavy laboured breathing .. 😂 She is neither gorgeous nor a good actress. Her lines were poorly written and the delivery was abysmal.
