| We need to stop building these group homes in upscale areas but of course mayor elrich is blind to that fact |
It's in one of the news stories linked in this thread. |
NCCF was opened in 1931 when that part of Bethesda was farmland and it was not upscale either. |
It also adds to the Whitman parents complaining they don't want the kids from that group home attending school at Whitman. |
It has been stated in multiple media articles. They were in that program, not in the family shelter. These were troubled kids from DC put in a therapeutic group home. Based on posts on another social media site at least one had been causing problems at Whitman and had beaten and robbed at least one other boy. There were red flags the placement was not working or was not sufficient for at least that one kid. |

+1 it was there for ~25 years before Whitman even existed. |
So the MCPS restorative justice policy didn't help in this case it seems. |
Yep! Imagine: people want to discuss the three Whitman students (thanks to the location of their JD "facility") -- "scholars" at one of the most prestigious and highly rated public schools in the US -- who committed a heinous robbery and murder in an expensive and very safe neighborhood. You see, since people who *live* in B-CC don't commit or tolerate these sorts of crimes, it's a story when criminals from DC are placed in Bethesda, and bring their deplorable violence with them. |

The Montgomery County police has all their names released online
16-year-old Antonio Lawrence, 17-year-old Joshua Wright, and 18-year-old Blaise Uchemadu, all from Bethesda, are accused of killing 33-year-old Lawrence Richard Wilson, Jr. on Sunday, December 19, 2021. https://www2.montgomerycountymd.gov/mcgportalapps/Press_Detail_Pol.aspx?Item_ID=39722 |
| I wonder if Wright sought advice before turning himself in. It was definitely the smart move but something tells me he isn’t too bright. |
Huh? That’s an amazingly cynical view of of an obviously straightforward situation. |
The same people complaining about a 6+ page thread about a murder committed by Whitman students in Bethesda are probably also gleefully posting on a 20+ page thread about the Whitman crew coach. Incredible. |
99.9% of kids who are in youth foster care do not become murderers. Your viewpoint is one in the same as just considering these kids unredeemable. |
| Good job dcps |
