Bethesda homicide

I heard about this death last night but turns out it was a homicide. Suspects are 16, 17, and 18 years old. Seems like multiple tragedies.

yup

We'll need to know more first. If the victim was in his 60s, then I'd guess a robbery. If the victim was in his 20's, drug deal more likely.

I wonder which stairwell it was. I go to that shopping center at least once a week with my kids, and we take the stairs often.

So regardless that the police call it a robbery and the teens are charged with robbery, the stay at home detective wants to know more before determine the nature of the crime.

That parking garage is designed badly , dark and narrow on the first level.

It is such a poorly laid out shopping area, parking, stairs, and the elevator opens on the wrong side of the often.

The NBC article linked in the OP specifically says it was a suspected drug deal:

The teen suspects, whose names were not released, were charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Police told News4 they believe drugs were involved in the incident.

Why or what is the strategy for not releasing thier names if they are charged as adults?

Not the PP to whom you're responding, but are you aware that a drug deal gone wrong can indeed involve robbery? When someone takes money or drugs without paying for them...it's still a robbery even if the thing stole was illegal drugs. Criminals can and do rob each other and cops still call it "robbery."

“Police radio transmissions indicate that officers on the scene were able to connect the discovery of the victim's body to a missing persons report filed from a residential address a few blocks away. More information on that case was not immediately available.“
