Trump is going to try to claim Meadows orchestrated the whole thing, just watch.

Crickets on the dozen of unindicted co-conspirators that still remain free. What did the FBI know and when did they know it?

Because he is an old fashioned mid-westerner and, for them, you do you job and serve your country because that is the expectation. Simple as that and, no, you don't ask for a reward for doing the right thing.

Its just like returning a wallet with $1,000 in it and then refusing an award and wanting to remain anonymous.

Refreshing, frankly.

This is performance art. Masterful troll.

What

Who can tell. The Wapo’s massive three part article on the coup made it pretty clear that the FBI knew ahead of time, but downplayed it, whether because it was a failure of imagination or because leadership had been infiltrated by sympathetic right wingers. Or PP could be one of those poor souls who thinks that no gop were involved in the coup, that FBI and similar people showed up and commit the violence.

"We need an oval office address. He’s got to condemn this [shit] Asap. The Capitol Police tweet is not enough. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand.”
- Donald Trump Jr.

“Can he make a statement? Ask people to leave the Capitol."
- Sean Hannity

“Please get him on tv. Destroying everything you have accomplished.”
- Brian Kilmeade

Plus hundreds from lawmakers, including this one [shudder]

These sound like CYA bull, like “oh, don’t you remember? I said we were going to meet at the Capitol for a peaceful kumbaya!”

I think it's sad and hiarlious that Don Jr had to beg Meadows to get his daddy to stop the insurrection and attempted coup.

Poor Don Jr. Even his own father won't take his calls.

Jr’s text in particular sounds like a confirmation (not that any more was needed) that this was all planned, it just wasn’t going the way they wanted it to go.

Also just imagine if Nixon were caught bugging the Watergate today. People would be like, shrug.

Fox News would be running stories alternately claiming it didn’t happen, it was a false flag operation, and Nixon was totally justified in doing it. The mainstream media would publish stories about how Democrats also sometimes record conversations.

Remember we had conspiracy insanity back then. I had teachers who told our class that the moon landing was faked.

And Trump famously doesn’t text or email since that would leave a paper trail.

I can. I went to college in the Midwest and- though I hated it there- I would have placed my bets on Mike Pence to love his country, do the right thing and then walk off the stage just like a farmer tilling the back forty

What saved America was that NYC mob money man like Drump had no standing in the end to a midwestern boy

I'm not buying that story. I don't see Pence as a hero. He was terrified of the orange idiot. He knew how dangerous drumpf was and was terrified of him having dictator-like control. Drumpf would be as easily lead to jail Pence as he would Hillary.

To quote Chris Rock, you don't get credit for something you are supposed to do.

Pence was not a hero. Pence did his duty as he should have and should be credited for that. That's it.

I wish Pence would speak out and turn against Trump but it's not going to happen.
