Meadows "Coup" PowerPoint

I'm late to the party but anyone know why meadows released hundreds of documents and then ceased cooperating?

I posted a tweet somewhere above that speculates that Trump threatened him. It would be totally on brand, that’s for sure.

No one knows for sure, but it seems to be connected to him figuring out that the committee had subpoenaed his communications carriers so they could cross check his production and privilege logs.

He's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Thank you! So he was inclined to cooperate (maybe a deal?) then the Trump Russia threat? Then he realized that the committee is getting all these materials anyway from providers, so why help?

No, that’s not it. The committee is getting metadata from the carriers. That tells them who he communicated with and when. It doesn’t include the content. But it does allow the committee to see whether he is leaving stuff out. He was likely planning to leave out the worst of it, and then realized he would get caught.

I don’t know, maybe he wasn’t getting a good enough deal or didn’t have the goods. Someone has to take the fall, maybe he knows it’s him and he’s not going to do it willingly.

It all smells

The metadata gives them a list of contacts and questions to ask, along with catching people in their lies when they try to claim they had no involvement.

I immediately assumed Trump threatened him. Once I understood Trump operates like a mafia guy, I can guess his actions better.

If the perps were Muslims, then yes, DOJ would throw the book at them. There would be demands for a lynching.

But these were "nice white" people, so they will just get a slap on the wrist, if anything.

Isn’t one “nice white” lady going to jail? When I saw that, I had hope.

Because he is an old fashioned mid-westerner and, for them, you do you job and serve your country because that is the expectation. Simple as that and, no, you don't ask for a reward for doing the right thing.

Its just like returning a wallet with $1,000 in it and then refusing an award and wanting to remain anonymous.

Refreshing, frankly.

This is performance art. Masterful troll.

No, it’s not like what you said about the wallet.

It’s more like:

Watching your boss steal lots of wallets. You get some wallets, too. Not much but maybe one to keep you quiet. Then the boss wants you to say you stole the wallets and you decide to prevent more wallets from being stolen.

No, Pence did not save the country. The Capitol Hill Police Officer (the one chased by angry white people) on the stairs who saved Pence’s a$$ did more to “save the country.”

McConnell is finally mewling quietly that the 1/6 committee was a good idea but otherwise NO GOP have really spoken up. There have been no pushes to get any of these seditious monsters censured or thrown out. There’s just quiet support.

What's also interesting to watch in all of this is the FOX News web of lies imploding:

- FOX News hosts privately texting Meadows telling him the plot has gone south and to call it off - reveals an astounding level of collaboration between Trump admin and FOX News undermining any credibility as independent and objective media, along with revealing how they knowingly, publicly peddled falsehoods on behalf of the Trump administration while privately colluding with them.

- Chris Wallace finally had enough and quit, one of the few last people they had with any recognized journalistic integrity

- Judge rules Dominion $1.6 billion lawsuit can move forward against FOX News for its knowing false amplification of "sTOp ThE SteAL" BS slapping down their attempt to dismiss in a 52 page decision.

Which jail is she going to? Minimum security? They need to be tried for treason, not just "breaking and entering'. That's a slap on the wrist. I've zero doubt that if a bunch of Muslims or black people stormed the Capitol to try to over turn the 2016 election because they thought it was stolen by Trump that white America would demand these people be tried for treason and executed. Zero doubt.

McConnell is on the Gang of 8. he knows what is coming.
Nunes was too, before he resigned.

Thoughts and prayers.
