I know it seems TOOOOO early for this, but can we get a gift list going?

Oh and Christmas jammies and stocking stuffers of candy and some little furry things that race along the floor that were cheap and funny on Amazon.

We do a Christmas Eve box. That will contain his jammies, something silly to play, santa ears, favorite treats, and one small gift (likely the watch since it was actually a First day of school surprise that we forgot).

He loves to read and is into computers (how they operate, code, etc). He also swims.

I have two tween girls, 9 and 12 and also prefer experiences to things. IN normal times, I would have sprung for Broadway tickets and a couple of nights in a cool NYC hotel They both love clothes, older one especially. She loves hoodies, vintage band tees (I have to tell her which bands were cool, vintage stuff, etc. They both love books. My older one loved her Kindle until it died. Would your son like one of those? Graphic novels (from Calvin and Hobbes to anime or Marvel), drawing/art stuff, and outdoors gear. A cool ski jacket and maybe a plan for a ski trip/lessons? A drum kit?

Last year we got 3 year old the Melissa and Doug animal care center (one side is a vet clinic and the other is a groomer) and then supply kit for the groomer (already had a vet set). That is a big hit with the 3 year old and the 7 year old and has held up well to daily use.

This entire thread inspired me to get my Christmas shopping done last night/this morning! Thanks so much, OP! I normally don’t start till early November. Thankfully, I was able to get everything for my kids, but supplies are definitely dwindling.

DS is 8 years old. DD is 6.5 years old. Both are getting a Nintendo Switch + games (animal crossing, Pokémon snap, Zelda), Star Wars lego advent for DS, lego friends advent for DD, and both always get a new tree ornament that symbolizes something we did during the year and a few books.

DS is also getting: Beyblades, roblox, and Pokémon collector set (ordered from reputable Pokémon distributor).

DD is also getting: 4th AG Wellie Wisher (she wants all 5 eventually) + one accessory outfit, a kids natural makeup kit, and a cute journal and office accessories set (stapler, tape dispenser, etc) b/c she loves writing.

Stocking stuffers for my DD — hair bows and headbands, tamagotchi, toothbrush, book of stamps (she likes mailing letters), chocolates
Stocking stuffers for DS — mini roblox figures, tamagotchi, chocolates, toothbrush

On Christmas Eve, they are allowed to open pjs and a single Christmas Eve book. This usually comes from their grandparents. Fingers crossed on vaccines b/c I would like to take them to the Nutcracker this season as their “experience” gift since both enjoy dancing ballet.

Try placing your order for a Prime item and see how the two days stretches out...to a week...to two weeks...to "We will keep you informed"...to "Your item arrived yesterday!" (It did not). The entire shipping chain has been affected.

Half of my current Amazon orders is delayed in transit… never happened before

We asked my relatives about the best way to buy real Pokemon cards for my 6 year old, and my 11 year old nephew volunteered to give him a bunch of his cards. He picked out a stack of about 75 cards and explained some of the rules and how to tell which cards are counterfeit to me when I visited them this weekend. So we got a great stack of cards for birthday, Christmas, and maybe even Easter. Maturing cousins for the win!

You’re welcome! My goal is to finish TODAY. I got a ton of stuff in person at Costco last week (American Girl clothes/extras, puzzles, Lindt advent calendars, remote control Jeep, LEGO sets, lots of books including the new jk Rowling Christmas book). Saw Pokémon sets there, although I didn’t buy as my kids are into them. Ironically the only thing that hasn’t been delivered by Amazon is DD’s Halloween costume. I think if everyone gets on it this week/next, you’ll be okay for Christmas. Definitely don’t delay. Good luck everyone!

Mine already has them, but 8 year old loves Posca paint markers with thick art paper, and empty flip book and comic books he can draw in.

I just requested a karaoke machine for my 4 year old DD. She obv can't read the words yet, but she loves to sing and pretends things around the house are microphones. My mom got her the First Fiesta one.
A ride-on Tonka truck for my truck obsessed two year old.

I'll probably get them a lego set because I am Legos obsessed.

We are asking the rest of the family to chip in on an expensive wagon- the Wonderfold, since I am expecting #3 soon and we'd like an additional option to our stroller.

Does anyone have any thoughts on trampolines?

I have 10 and 12 year old girls that want one as their one big Christmas gift this year. I'm on the fence. We previously thought they were somewhat dangerous, but now that they're older, I'm thinking that it might be good exercise. On the flipside, being older, maybe they won't use it as much as they think they will? And then I'll have a trampoline in my garage...

Don't do it. DS's friend just broke his leg when he double-bounced with his sister and she (older/bigger) came down on the brother's leg - broke both tibia and fibula, needed surgery with screws.

Too dangerous. Stick to your guts for like two more years.

Thank you for the trampoline responses. Any ideas of this general type? I had already shot down hover boards...
