I know it seems TOOOOO early for this, but can we get a gift list going?

Looking for a big (ish) gift for a 3.5yo girl. Her older brother is getting a new bike, so want to give her something she’ll be excited about too.

She has a great dollhouse and loves calico critter stuff for it. She likes music and stories… I was thinking about a keyboard but not sure if she’s too young? I feel like I always overshoot the age appropriateness just a bit (like- got her a toniebox for her bday; she’s just now really getting into using it on a regular basis. Or the dollhouse- she didn’t play with it much at first but now loves it)

Maybe playmobile set? Any recommendations of a good one?

We try to do fewer, bigger presents on our side because grandparents go crazy with stuff in the $10-$30 range.

I learned my lesson the hard way last year with advent calendars. Buy yours now! I bought up the lego friends one and the LOL surprise one last week.

My kid was closer to 4 last Christmas, and the big hits were 2 stuffed animals that she got and a welliewisher doll with a couple of outfits and books that grandma gave her (she has never been into baby dolls, but if yours is then the bitty baby would also be a good option at this age). My dd also loves playmobil, and there's pretty much a theme for every interest, so it depends on what your kid is into (mine likes scooby doo, princesses, forest fairies, regular city type stuff, animal sets. there are a lot of choices).

For the PP with the 3.5 year old, can you get her a balance bike or scooter?

Also, at that age, it’s important to somewhat match physical size/ number of presents but they have no sense of how much things cost. So if you get her a bean bag chair for her room or even a big box with all her winter snow gear in it along with some smaller presents that she’ll be really excited about, it should be enough.

We already have a scooter and balance bike (all were originally gifts for DC1, so while she could get her own, that just feels like a ridiculous waste). A beanbag chair could be an interesting option, just not sure where it would fit in her room…

So far i have pajamas for both.

I have an unopened Ticket to Ride - 6YO isn’t too old for this, right?

Do your kids like to cook at all? We’ve really enjoyed a Raddish subscription this year, highly recommend except you DO still have to go buy the ingredients.

Do they play any instruments? Any chance a keyboard would be fun?

We have a keyboard, drums, guitar, and violin! Yes, they love instruments.
The cooking subscription is an awesome idea!
I got them each excavation/digging kits so far. They are obsessed with those.

What about adding a finger guitar to your mix. They are small hand helds and my 13 yr old ds loves his!

He loves to read and is into computers (how they operate, code, etc). He also swims.

How about a raspberry pi? It is a kid friendly into to coding computer.

DD10 wants a new makeup kit and a Target gift card plus some Shopkins or LOLs to add to her collection. She stopped playing with them a while back but she still likes to line them up and count them. Maybe some new graphic novels. DD12 (turns 13 in January) wants a volleyball, some new clothes, and a bracelet making kit. Maybe some spirit wear from her school or a new phone case.

Books are always a good choice too but she reads so quickly it's more affordable to get them from the library.
