Economy will be roaring. Middle East will be forgotten. And the Republicans will still be pushing a national abortion ban.

Totally agree. Democratic landslide.

Show me one reputable source that supports roaring economy. Everyone on both sides predict that it will continue sliding down.

This past quarter’s GDP number didn’t penetrate your bubble, eh? Nothing is sliding down now.

That GDP just reflects inflation. People paying more for fewer products. That’s why people are under incredible stress and getting very angry.

You are wrong. Real GDP is adjusted for inflation. The economy is growing. Consumers are spending. All your prayers for a recession were unanswered.

Real GDP isn’t what’s reported in the news and actual inflation has been at least 10 percent a year this year and last. The cpi is intentionally manipulated. The best way to tell is to follow McDonalds which raised prices ten percent both years and involves identical products for decades. The prices at McDonald’s include the price increases in food, labor, energy, taxes, insurance, transportation, real estate. It’s way more accurate than self serving manipulated and purposely under estimated cpi formula.

Well, then you might as well vote for Trump. Voting for a third candidate vs Biden just ensures Trump wins. Period. Trump’s not good for anyone unless you’re rich, white, and a Christian nationalist … so pick your poison, I guess.

If Biden supporting Israel after a horrific terrorist attack and expressing compassion for those brutally killed - some of whom weren’t Israeli (though that really shouldn’t matter) - is so awful to you then I don’t know what to say. I for one appreciate his leadership and compassion.

Meanwhile Trump is talking about preventing people with pro-Palestinian ideology from entering the US (which is disgusting and even more sinister - if possible - than the ban placed on Muslim travelers early in Trump’s presidency).

But hey, bite off that nose to spite your face.

Somehow that 45K Ford F-150 of just a few years ago is suddenly 70K? And everyone is complaining about their auto insurance skyrocketing. Gee, I wonder why?!

Arab countries refuse to let them in to endanger their citizens why on earth should the United States?

I don't know why you are making this about Israel because that has nothing to do with whether I vote for Biden. Don't tell me to "vote for Biden or else" when people are sleeping in tents in cities run by Democrats and illegals are crossing the border like it's no big deal. Biden has in fact adopted some of the same immigration policies for which Trump was demonized. During the Biden admin, the average person is not any better than they were during Trump's term, despite stimulus check and extra unemployment giveaways.

After seeing what happened in DC yesterday, I might agree with Trump to limit (at least temporarily) anyone who has any connection to Palestine or Hamas. Meanwhile, they are freely crossing US border and become more and more organized. We must be fooling ourselves if we think they will not take over suburbs in McLean or Bethesda when they are more empowered.

Combine that with Zeints legislation proposal to expel all Palestinians from the US and the threat to ban abortions nationally and it is hard for me to understand the idea that people think both sides are the same.

Sorry, absolute and total perfection is required of Democrats. Meanwhile the squishy middle will pretend not to see the fascism in the GOP.

FTR, I don’t think all is lost. I think that most of us on here right now in 2023 are political and thus most of the pps on here have an agenda. The agenda of many Republicans is to pose as disaffected Democrats.

In reality I don’t think Israel is going to move the needle one way or the other as so many Republican (“Life long Democrats”) pps want it to. The GOP is going to shut down the government, the GOP is being open about their plans to demolish the United States as we know it (Project 2025) and to abolish legal abortion and birth control across the country.

It’s not even the lesser of two evils. It’s progress, human rights, fixing problems or fascism, corruption, violence and bigotry.

I think you’re being naive unless what you think are Republicans pretending to be democrats expands to this much polling:

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/05/us/politics/biden-trump-2024-poll.html

And please don’t say human rights while advocating votes for someone who is just fine with the wholesale slaughter of children, provided they’re Palestinian children.

The stimulus check and extra unemployment were for… you didn’t say it, for some reason… mopping up the covid mess that Trump made, that’s right!! And it… you can admit it, even if it hurts you… that’s right! It lifted millions of children out of poverty and kept them fed.

Speaking of giveaways, why no mention of the Trump admin just printing money for any and all “businesses” including several Republican congresscritters? Why not mention that?

Why not mention that part of the reason for the “illegals” everywhere is that the GOP refuses to hire additional judges to wade through the claims of those who profess to be refugees?

Why is it that you demand perfection from Biden but Trump spends four years terrorizing Americans and the world and you think we were better off under his “leadership”?

Honest to god. Republicans are a drinking party unto themselves.

Perfection? People aren’t asking for perfection. They’re asking for better than this. And they’re being told expecting better from the candidate who campaigned on…Americans should expect better…is somehow too much to ask for.

I won’t vote for Trump but the knee jerk “Fear Trump Vote Biden!” has facts-based issues in some important demographics.

+1

A lot of COVID conscious people saw a slight edge in Trump’s response as well. Operation Warp Speed and a whole slew of the actually effective counter measures happened under Trump. But the Biden administration really just wanted to be all ‘Mission Accomplished’ and started pretending we didn’t have a problem. This is why many more died under Biden than under Trump: we had more tools, but even less will to use them.

A lot of the posters trying to browbeat us into voting for Biden could see Biden (or HRC, BHO, WJC, KH, PB, etc) shoot someone on 5th Avenue and they’d still say, “Look, that’s stable, effective leadership!”

Trump management was undeniably vastly superior. Normal people tend to like World Peace, low inflation, a stable border, less crime, a stable banking system, higher ACT scores, a record stock market that stays ahead of inflation and rapidly growing economy, healthier cities, low levels of antisemitism, less homelessness, higher life expectancies…
.

You must have been in a coma during the Trump administration.

That person is obviously confused but you can read in lots of the comments on this how the corporate conservative media has successfully promoted Trump by diminishing Biden at every turn. And the people have no idea they’ve been propagandized.

Diminishing Biden? Hell, he does that himself. He was the worst senator and you boobs promoted him to President. JFC.

JFC? I mean, Trump is a delusional autocrat. Biden is old, but he is neither delusional nor an autocrat.

Oh, Biden is an autocrat alright. Threatening people with losing their jobs if they don't vax. Giving a fire and brimstone speech with clenched fists and red lighting behind him chanting MAGA evil over and over.

Using Executive Orders again and again to circumvent congress. Weaponizing the DOJ against political enemies. Who do you think you're kidding?

The bolded never happened unless you work for the Federal government, in which case, he is the boss.

Thanks for making my point about him being an autocrat.

Is the U.S. postal service part of the federal government also?

Are newspapers also part of the government or does the FBI get to steer them and order them to delete content with tax payer dollars because the administration (or also the "Disinformation Governance Board") doesn't like their views?

Yes, the US Postal Service is part of the government. Is that a serious question?

And to your second point, why are you ok with Russian and Chinese disinformation being allowed to pollute our body politik?
