2028 Girls Lacrosse

Send an email explaining the dilemma, coaches come and watch a game or 2. It's the work around for conflicting tryout dates everywhere.

So, back to original question: any Pride girls set one of these up?

Pride 2028 is at US Youth Nationals with 3 games tomorrow and at least one on Wednesday. Pretty unlikely.

You must not be plugged in if you believe that. There will be some at MD tryouts starting today.

Realistically how many girls on Pride would even make a MD team considering the lack of movement on those teams? A Pride girl would have to be really good to displace an existing player. I think it's probably a small number of Pride players who are at such a level. Maybe even none.

Oh please. You’re either SD or a complete moron (or both). Not even going to get to the “merits” of your post.

Seriously, how many? The MD teams have been together for years and are very deep with talent. If some Pride girl is going to make a switch in 8th grade she is going to displace someone and that is going to upset some people. It would have to be worth it and I doubt it would be worth it for ANY Pride player.

Never underestimate the ability of some parents to overestimate the ability of their daughters.

People who are plugged in know the MD tryouts are about certain top tier girls from other MD teams who may switch teams. Nobody plugged in is concerned in least about which second or third tier Pride girl shows up.

You are the winner of the douchiest post of the day, SD. Keep up the good work.

Whether anyone cares or not, there are players trying out for MD teams, that's all that was said.

The girls on the top MD teams already have solid stick skills and lax IQ; even the bottom 5 players on the team. So you will need to come in with both of those plus speed, or size to set you apart and make them consider replacing a current player.

For the top MD teams do you typically see some movement between the A and B teams?

Marginal movement. Occasionally a B player will move up to keep the illusion alive that it does happen and they can promote that to the B team parents. Not as much movement down from A to B, because the A player will probably go find another team to play for instead

Such a negative and condescending group of posters. Let's try the facts in a measured tone:

--Some DMV players may try out for MD teams this week, including from Pride. Those are decisions for those parents and the players;

--If there are players from Pride going and missing a chance to help their team at US Youth Nationals, they will be missed, but their family's decision is understandable;

--There are at least 10 girls on Pride and Stars combined who could make, and would be meaningful contributors on, the top 5 Baltimore teams. No one is kidding themselves saying that; and if it's not true, then Capital's 2028 teams will be in for a tough run. Pride has played Hero's and M&D close this year. That's not possible if every player on those teams is head and shoulders above every player on Pride;

--Given the facts above, it is still difficult to displace a current player on any top team, even if the talent level is better but "close". You might need to look a layer deeper at specific gaps, and even then, the math suggests that there won't be a lot of slots.

All that said, I hope we keep our best in the DMV.

That's pretty reasonable. I would add that it is probably not one of the 10 Pride/Stars girls you mention trying out for MD teams this week. These girls are more likely preparing for Capital and going to play in MD for a year does nothing to advance that goal. If it's not those 10, then it is going to be even more difficult to displace a current player on any top team. We will know soon enough, but I'm not expecting much if any movement from Pride or Stars to a top team.

Overall very few DMV girls seek out the Baltimore / HoCo teams. The vast majority of the area's best stay in DMV. Of the 21 DMV All Americans this year, only two play for the MD clubs. The remaining 19 (all committed) play for DMV clubs (13 for Capital, 3 for Pride, 2 for VA Metro and 1 for Cardinal).
