I am a life long gym goer. Nothing fancy, been going to the same shitty golds gym for 17 years but I go faithfully 5 days a week. I usually do an hour of cardio split up between stairmaster and arc trainer. Then 20 min of rotation weight training. Since covid I have been running outside for 40 min and doing 20 min of rowing (only machine I have) and mocking my weight routine fairly closely with an investment of a few dumbbells and a medicine ball. However i still have gained some weight so I must not be running hard enough to match my previous cardio heartrate. Eating hasnt changed. Hows everyone else doing?
I am a runner and stopped temporarily because it was too difficult to social distance. I have put on 4 lbs so far.
Not at all. Still running 6 days a week, just running some less-traveler routes. I’ve also been able to add in a few yoga videos or body weight sessions.
Gained about 6 lbs since mid-March. Live in an Urban Area and jogging while social distancing is not an option. I have been doing some Pilates videos.
Still brisk walking 3-4 miles 6-7 days/week but I haven’t been good about replicating the resistance training I used to do at the gym. I haven’t gained any weight (well, NOW I have, thanks Easter bunny) but I’m losing muscle so I need to be more consistent.

Regular gym goer. I'm finding it hard to get the same intensity workout out at home vs. gym, but I'm still workout out just as regularly. Zoom workouts have been a godsend. Plus 3-5 mile runs 3x a week.
I'm cooking at home but eating a lot of cookies - I think keeping my activity/metabolism up is keeping things balanced so far. |
I've lost 6 pounds. Mostly from stress. Daily walks are my only exercise right now.
My weight hasn’t changed but I have been exercising way more. Bought a spin bike to use with the peloton app the first week we were in quarantine. Staying home has given me the chance to use it 5 times/week and I love it. Also getting 13K steps in per day. I only allow myself tv when I’m exercising.
Lost 7 pounds. Former regular gym goer. I mostly lost due to walking 4 miles a day to relieve stress.
I gained 5. I’m a runner and cyclist, but rarely run or bike now. I used to run when kids were in school or at 6am before DH left for work: but now I’m doing neither and I’m also not walking and biking as much. I want to get back into a different routine though.
I used to go to gym classes four to five times a week. I have difficult children and classes are my outlet. The first two weeks of this I was stress eating a lot because it seemed like something was going to happen or like we were waiting for something. Now that it's settled into this blah state of things I'm don't feel much like eating at all--I lose weight when I'm sad. My weight has stayed the same even though I won't exercise at home and can't really leave for a walk because of the kids.
I’ve lost 4 lbs since mid-March. I’ve found way more time throughout the day to workout, sometimes in more creative ways. On conference calls, I’ll walk all over, sometimes outside if they’re long ones, and sometimes I’ll do jumping jacks while on mute. Between projects, I’ll take a 5 minute break and do 10 lunges. Plus, I haven’t been eating as much because of stress, which is probably the main reason I’ve lost some.
Lost weight and more toned. I already exercised at home with a peloton and free weights. Now I think its because I am eating 100% at home that’s making the difference. Nutrition is much better.

I gained 5lbs at first from all the baking I've been doing and more snacking- not junk food, but just more food. Plus my basement exercises aren't as long or intense as my gym ones. And less daily activities moving around since we are in the house all day.
But I've dialed back the baking a bit (my kids love to bake) and have to watch the frequent snacking. I've lost the 5 lbs and doing my best to get varied types of workouts in- even if they aren't as long or intense (kids always wake up during them). This will pass eventually |
Weeks 1 and 2 I was really on the ball with online workouts and riding my Peloton. Then my dad died rather suddenly (non-Covid, out of state) near the end of week 2 and now I just have not gotten back to working out and am eating all of the crackers. I'd been losing weight the first few weeks, but need to realign so as not to go wildly off track.
