United invested in flights to large cities in China seeing it as a growth market. This will be a problem for them. Mark my words, their earnings will fall this year and their stock will suffer when earning results come out next quarter.

Yes, but it's not a lot. Seasonal service to Xi'an 3x a week. 3x a week service to Chengdu and Hangzhou. All their other flights are to the Beijing and Shanghai, just like other US carriers.

So United sells more seats per day on the Washington-San Francisco route than they sell in a week to Chengdu, Xi'an, and Hangzhou.

That was a totally different situation and one that was understandable. The girls were riding on a “buddy pass” which has dress codes for people traveling using it.
We have used a buddy pass before and were told by the person providing it that we had to dress a certain way. Those are the rules.

They didn’t handle this one well. It should have all been taken care of at the gate, before anyone boarded.

What about the fact that all that press alleged that this David Dao is the same David Dao convicted of several felonies and taken to the medical board for trading drugs for sex. BECAUSE THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PEOPLE.

So not only is this poor man victimized by United on the plan and injured, then his video is plastered all over the internet and then "dirt" is dug out about his "sketchy" past and spread all over the world and debated whether it is relevant to him being removed from the plane, and the media can't even double confirm it's the same guy. United and every single medial that print or aired that story needs to be sued. this poor man. I am so disgusted with all of them.

I have a name that others have. I first learned about it when creditors kept calling and threatening me for unpaid bills to Sears, Amex, etc., It wasn't a case of stolen identity. It was that someone else out there has my name as well and I have theirs. Google yourself. This shit can happen to anyone. OMFG.

Not the PP, but it's a pass for United employees and their families to use. They expect you not to wear flipflops, ratty Tshirts, etc, since you are representing the company.

I think that's wishful thinking. People have short term memories, and airlines have consolidated so much that for many routes, alternate options are limited. I guarantee that when given the choice of a direct United flight vs. a connecting flight on another airline, they will usually prefer the direct. The other big domestic airlines aren't that great anyway- only Southwest and JetBlue offer a somewhat pleasant experience these days, IME.
