Will Trump drop Vance?

Then, after Trump’s performance at today’s NABJ conference, I’m not worried at all. Nobody with political aspirations will attach themselves to Trump now. His presidential race is DOA. Nobody wants to hitch their star to such a loser.

Trump badly needed to make himself relevant, and he has done just that. For him, there is no negative publicity.

And he needed people and the press to stop talking about Vance - to stop the bleeding. It’s working somewhat. Dems need to do something to get the press back on the message about Vance being a heartbeat away from the presidency and both Trump and Vance being unfit and weird.

They will not like it if he fires Vance. Trump needs their $$.

Also Trump looks like a loser if he suddenly dumps him in less than a month of launching him.

What a mess.

Didn't I read somewhere that Peter Thiel has since moved on from Vance?

yeah but then he came back

Shrug. Most people don't know or care who Peter Thiel is. And Elon Musk is mostly known for Teslas and destroying Twitter. I get that Trump wants their money, but I'm sure, conman that he is, he could find a way to convince them that dropping Vance was in their best interest.

He called them lazy, so the people in eastern ohio might care enough to not show up and vote

Many politicians call voters lazy, though they don’t use that exact term. More often they use terms like “unmotivated, disaffected, challenged”

Trump needs to dump Vance and Vance needs to dump Trump. Quite the pickle.

Appoint a VP designee
DN Convention in Chicago
Sept 10 "debate"

Plenty will happen before people start their early voting.

I really don't understand the advisors
They have up to this point botched the campaign.
They are accused of taking away women's rights and hating women so to counter that they choose a misogynistic running mate when they could have chosen Haley

Instead of hammering on the border/ immigrants and the economy which are weaknesses they could exploit .
They choose to attack Harris race and play into the accusations of racism?

I mean t's better for the country that they seem totally clueless and disorganized
But from a strategy standpoint it's mind boggling

I just don’t think, even if his advisors were pushing for her, that Trump himself wanted Haley. He’s doubling down on playing to his existing base rather than trying to expand it. And heck if Biden had stayed in I’m not sure any of this would matter. But now that Biden’s age is no longer commanding the headlines it’s a different ballgame.

Trump really likes Vance because he's "so handsome", that's some powerful stuff.

Anyone good and decent who worked with Trump the first time won't work with him again. He's left with a basket of inept MAGA clowns.

He doesn't like Haley and he's a toxic sexist to boot. He wouldn't have picked Haley no matter what his advisors said.

Trump will lose and Usha and JD are in the dustbin of history. Her striver instincts delved too far into the deep.

They are on their way to being washed up political has-beens like the Palin family. At this point, Palin is a D-list reality TV star.

Eastern Ohioans will also remember that Trump promised to reopen the Lordstown factory and bring auto-worker jobs back to eastern Ohio. After he was elected, he completely forgot about eastern Ohio and made absolutely no effort to bring jobs back to the region. Blue collar jobs fled Ohio under Trump. So, watching their jobs leave the region, then promising to bring the jobs back, completely forgetting his campaign promises to them, and then calling them lazy. What a great way to treat your supporters.

The trade-off for having Trump is that he doesn’t follow strategy, famously follows his gut, and doubles down on grievances and petty things even when it’s not best for him politically.

Vance's eyeliner really makes his blue eyes pop, doesn't it?

If you're talking about having cushions together, it's not just lust -- it really is love.
