DP It is not lying. Here is the issue..... Biden has let these people in and a good number of them are unvetted. And, because agents have been pulled from actually patrolling the border, we have a record number of known got-aways in our country - somewhere around 2 million. And, this number is the ones that our authorities know about. As a result, we have migrants who are part of gangs and robbery rings in cities throughout the country. And, who knows how many would-be terrorists. If a migrant cannot be vetted, he/she should NOT be released into our country. Period. And, this is about way more than the fact that he flipped off the cops. Not only did he arrogantly flip off the cops, but he was one of the gang that assaulted them first. And, some of those arrested had previous arrests. Why have they been allowed to stay in our country - at taxpayers expense - and not be locked up or deported? |
In a post 9/11 world, of course those immigrating to the US should be vetted. That is a no-brainer. This being said, we should continue to welcome migrants from ALL parts of the world. Properly vetted immigrants from places such as Liberia, Bangladesh, and Moldova should be welcomed in proportionate numbers along with those that are from countries where it is geographically feasible to come here seeking a better life. Our failures to enact more appropriate immigration policy and our failures to enforce policies that are in place are long standing failures with no single politician or party being on the right side of the issue. |
They should be welcomed LEGALLY. The US should be the ones to determine who is welcomed here based on what is best for the US's interests. |
No rational person would argue with this. Our laws pertaining to asylum seekers can make for some gray area in this regard but that's just one facet of our immigration system that needs to be updated and properly enforced. |
I disagree with you regarding the bolded. There are a plethora of comments here on DCUM condoning the act of entering our country illegally. Perhaps those people are not rational. If they aren't, there are sure a lot of them. |
It's more likely that only a few people are behind those plethora of comments and yes, those would be irrational people. |
Where are all the Democrats, rending their garments and tearing out their hair at this news? They certainly had no problem shrieking in outrage about things like this, just a few short years ago. |

I don’t understand why there is anyone against deporting criminals. Almost all undocumented people want them deported too because it makes them look bad and because they are preyed upon and often aren’t willing to go to the police. I feel like sanctuary cities in terms of not cooperating with border patrol feeds into white liberal guilt or something.
I really can’t figure it out. My very large extended Latino family wants them deported ASAP. Perhaps because we still often listen to news from Latin America and release there are so many criminals fleeing to the US. Fir example in El Salvador the new president has instituted a severe and draconian crack down on gangs in El Salvador. If you are a gang member who brutalized your neighborhood, extorted business, raped so many teens and young women you are being rounded up and sent to a maximum security prison. 75,000 gang members have been arrested and the result is the murder rate was one if the highest in the world a few years ago of over 100 murders per 100,000 people down to 2.3. So all the young men with gang tattoos from El Salvador coming to the US seeking asylum are really not who we want coming. El Salvador is now a very safe country so almost no one should be getting asylum from there. |
Very interesting post - you should send this to a major newspaper as a letter to the editor. Democrats need to hear this more than anyone. |
Thank you for posting. |
The last 6 months we have not been getting the best. |

It is expensive for US citizens to live in NYC, particularly Manhattan. Many have multiple roommates and have several jobs to cover their rent.
It is expensive for US residents to pay for hotels in NYC. I don't understand why the US is paying for free housing for citizens of other countries, plus free food, plus free medical when the illegals are legal residents of other countries. We have a lot of seniors, single Moms, and single Dads that could use a little help who are tax paying legal citizens. |
