Mayor Adams has a new $77 million contract with the city's hotel association. 15 hotels will make room for migrants to stay for up to 28 days. 60 days for migrants with children.

Happening Now: Mayor Eric Adams has decided to start a pilot program where migrants will receive a credit card that will be refilled every 28 days. A family of four will receive $1,000/month.

The illegal families must sign a paper promising that they’ll only use it on food and baby supplies. The program already has $53 million allocated to it. This comes just months after Adams announced budget cuts for schools, libraries, and the police.

I wonder if New Yorkers are still glad they voted democrat?

Guarantee that NYC is going to get more migrants as word spreads a family can get $1000 in food every month. $12,000 a year is way more than most people earn in developing countries around the world. Oh and free housing.

Friend in NYC just sent this too that school food budgets were cut by 60 million in Feb. People who are truly liberal there are really upset and don’t understand how elderly and school kids are getting food cuts, libraries are having to reduce hours, etc. for people who willingly arrived in the past year.

A $60 million November cut to the city’s school foods budget is forcing the Education Department to thin out next month’s school cafeteria menu by removing a host of pricier items, including student favorites like cookies, chicken dumplings, and bean and cheese burritos, according to an email from a school food official obtained by Chalkbeat.

If I move to NYC can I be considered a migrant? After all technically I would be migrating to the north.

It stands out because it is very unusual. The vast vast vast majority of immigrants don't and wouldn't behave that way. These are mostly hard working people. I don't know the solution to this problem but lying about who these immigrants are and what they want is not it.

What is a sure fire way of vetting? There are jerks that are born right here that would flip off the cops. That happened because those people are jack asses not because they are migrants.
