What is going on with student loans?

Cancer and loans to which you agreed to is not the same.

Disagree. A lot of people get or got cancer after choosing to smoke. A lot of people get or got heart disease after eating unhealthy foods for decades. It’s unfair those people who got the disease later got better treatment! They should suffer just the same as former victims!

Uhhhh… Johnny eating burgers has no effect on you.

Sleepy Yo deciding to forgive money that people willfully borrowed HAS a consequence on MY financials via higher taxes and other socialist BS.

But yes, you’re always right. Moral highness as per usual, right?

Imagine rage tweeting with low class profanity about $10k from 10 years ago after you went to GU for practically nothing out of pocket. Move on, sweetie.

I don't believe it. I made around $37k in NoVa and landed a federal job with security clearance. The background investigators quizzed my employer and neighbors asking if I was a prostitute or sold drugs since I was so low income living in this area. I also wasn't paying off $10k in 6 months with the rent I owed every month

$2.5k in loans per college year totaling $10k, however she paid it off, just isn’t a big deal. She’s trying to brag about bootstraps and we’re talking about ten grand. It infers she collected around $200k in FREE means-based aid from GU. Who’s the real freeloader? Paying off $10k from your first laptop job wages after graduating from a ritzy private college (you attended for practically free) and residing in the most affluent bubble in the nation. Poor you!

She’s sounds dumb, out of touch, desperate to make this about her, and it frankly sounds like she’s projecting internal unhappiness that has nothing to do that $10k from a decade ago.

You should go protest at your local hospital. You know every low income and/or undocumented mother who gives birth to a “Medicaid baby” costs taxpayers about $50,000? Nearly 50% of the pregnant moms in the District pop out “Medicare babies.”

Nah, I’m not buying it. How does that ACTUALLY affect my income or my taxing?

If I were prez of a uni, I'd be salivating right now, because I'd be automatically thinking about raising tuition by $10k. Hey, if students are going to keep getting $10k freebies, why don't I just raise tuition by the same amount for an easy cash grab?

As usual, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. This does nothing to control costs or reduce them. Watch, it will end up encouraging colleges to raise prices because they know students will now get a level of forgiveness that's permanent. Students will expect it from now on. Might as well raise prices to get more money out of uncle sam.

44% of the District’s newborns are Medicaid babies. You don’t care you’re getting soaked for them do ya. It never even crossed your mind.

Another right wing reporter spamming a similar profanity laced talking point. It’s almost like these gals are ordered to tweet profane boiler plate talking points. This gal says she attended Columbia for an MFA. Zero details provided on how a youngish right wing blogger (?) paid for it. But she’s f***ing pissed!

Explain how I’m getting soaked for babies born to poor moms???

Does this tweet infer she still has loans from grad school and she might even be benefitting from this? Presumably the $10K — unless the rag she works at pays her $125,000 yr. Maybe it does and that’s why she’s livid - because the $10k is means tested.

Taxpayers pick up the tab. Just as taxpayers pick up the tab for stu loan forgiveness. And PPP scams. And trillions to defense and F-35 boondoggles. And Wall Street and corporate bailouts. And Ukraine. You get the idea.

I’m so done with this country. Every American is a deadbeat looking for a handout. Gone are the days when we were held accountable for the commitments we made. Now we are apparently just losers who beg for public aid. Disgusting.

Agree! She is clearly lying. After taxes, she would have been making $30k. Mommy and Daddy were subsidizing their princess. Conservatives need to realize there are many people who don’t have parents who can subsidize their kids. My parents actually asked to borrow money from me during college.
