What is going on with student loans?

Tell me you don’t have student loans without telling me you don’t have student loans If you are in a position where you qualify to have $10k forgiven, chances are you have tens of thousands more in student loans that you still need to pay back, so this amounts to maybe a few hundred extra bucks a month, hardly enough to move the inflation needle. The bigger issue is the continued moratorium on payments, because there are people like me who are TPSLF eligible and purposely haven’t paid a penny in nearly 3 years. We definitely are spending in ways we wouldn’t have otherwise because we are getting payment credit for not paying.

Your ignorance of economics is breathtaking. Musta been a liberal arts major.

These no way this isn’t going to end up in the Supreme Court and get repealed.

Right wing reporter whining about her measly $10,000 in loans after attending Georgetown for nearly free a decade ago. These people are so ugly. Imagine rage tweeting with low class profanity about $10k from 10 years ago after you went to GU for practically nothing out of pocket. Move on, sweetie.

+1. You can use Gov Scorecard to look up median student loan sums in the whitest red and MAGA counties around the country. Spoiler: Poor and middle class white Conservatives have a ton of student debt, too. And half of them never finished college. Fox News and all the Con Inc. right wing apparatus is FAKE. It’s astroturfed big business talking points trying to brainwash and dupe low IQ viewers. There are millions of white boomers watching Fox whose kids and grandkids just got $10k to $20k from Uncle Joe.

The math on this also doesn’t really add up. I’m guessing she lived in NoVa rent free with her parents in order for the numbers to match up. Most students with Pell grants couldn’t afford to live in NoVa making $37k a year and pay back their loans in 6 months.

I mean there are so many things wrong with her post. How did you go to Georgetown and only come out with $10,000 in student loans. Is the 37k after taxes cuz if not then how is she paying for living expenses food gas any of the costs? Or is the $37 what she reported to the IRS but really she made 60?

Tucker’s segment specifically sounded so cringe. Like a clueless rich wasp who hasn’t ever associated with anyone with undergrad debt. Cringe talking points written by dork writers who distill the day’s Con Inc. talking points. Tucker is a shameless prostitute.

She actually posted proof she had loans and paid off $10,000 quickly. She said the rest of her GU expenses were paid with generous means-based financial aid. I don’t really care to debate how she paid off a measly $10k, quickly or not. Imagine bragging about such a thing like 8 years later? And not recognizing how lucky you were to get that prestige degree for only $10k in loans. Move on, sweetie. Sorry you’re not married and still childless. I don’t think it was a freakin’ $10k loan from 8 or whatever years ago that prevented you from meeting a handsome and rich husband. It’s clear THAT’S really why she’s rage tweeting and sounds unbalanced.

I survived cancer before advanced chemo. People getting modern medicine is so unfair! Freaking losers. I have to assume they’re quite literally paid and/or ordered by their bosses to tweet out this nonsense.

She’s such a deluded and privileged brat she doesn’t realize kids at crap hole flyover state public degree mills are leaving with $30k in loans. She got to go to one of the most elite private colleges in the world, in the power center of the nation, and she’s fuming about $10k in loans.

I don't believe it. I made around $37k in NoVa and landed a federal job with security clearance. The background investigators quizzed my employer and neighbors asking if I was a prostitute or sold drugs since I was so low income living in this area. I also wasn't paying off $10k in 6 months with the rent I owed every month

I've seen this take. Gotta admit, it seems like a combination of liberal pessimism and conservative glee.

Student loan payments have been paused for 2 years. Without challenge. Similarly, forgiving a portion of the loans is well within the scope of the pandemic emergency powers.

The student loan payment pause won't be challenged because that's a Trump program and therefore does not cause inflation, grift, or any of the other issues in this thread that are blamed on Biden.

I'm tired of paying for people who build their homes in areas that get hit by hurricanes over and over again. It was their choice to live there, why do I need to keep bailing them out?
