You see that little line that's trending upwards? Will probably trend upwards until school starts and then surge some.

Will your report back when you're wrong?

Most people aren't reporting covid positives so we really don't know actual numbers. I just went to my doctor who was annoyed I didn't report it or test through them but we all tested positive on home tests.

The Pp that posted about wastewater monitoring has good data that’s independent of reporting.

The only statistics that matter are hospitalizations and deaths.

That is why we look at wastewater. The poop doesn't lie (unless different strains show up at different levels in fecal matter). Levels are definitely rising. However, I remember when people were absolutely freaking out that "BA2 is here!" claiming we would spike as high as BA1 because that's what happened in the UK. And it never happened in the US, because BA1 is so protective against BA2. (And also BA4, 5, etc).

I thought this was interesting -- Bill Gates is over this pandemic. Doesn't mask because he believes in vaccines and yet also doesn't believe widespread vaccines could have prevented variants (because they didn't). It's interesting to hear what one of the smartest people in the world think since he/his foundation was so involved before the pandemic in global vaccine access.

Haven't read it, but just want to say that "smart" doesn't always mean sensible. He's giving his opinion. Everyone has one.

Not gonna lie, we when better off when Trump was president and his opponents were yelling "science, science, science!" Now, no one wants to be responsible for the already F'd up economy but simply giving some basic protocol to minimize spread. We are in "fend for yourself" mode.

They probably should mandate masks again. I did it very happily when it was mandated but when I don’t have to, I like can’t (won’t) make myself. It feels like a burden when it isn’t mandated! I’m sure I’m not alone in that. I will wear it everywhere with perfect adherence … if I have to. But if I don’t have to, I’m not individually gonna make myself. Because masks do kinda suck all day long.

It shouldn't need to be mandated. Be a decent person and wear one.

Maybe to you, but not to me. I care about spread.

He can be over it as he can afford the best health care in the world.

Yup.

He and all the DC politicians don’t have to worry because they’ll get all the treatments. No questions asked. No need to call around and find out where they can be found and if they’re eligible. They’ll have the best drugs without even having to worry about it.

We go to Walter Reed and it takes weeks to months to get appointments right now. I asked for help with covid and was told to go to the ER or an outside urgent care (which they may or may not pay for). They have separate VIP wings and all the good doctors get promoted to those positions. Many of the doctors are interns and residents or even unlicensed doctors and you don't get to meet with the supervising doctor so who knows if all your information gets passed when the decision is made. For speciality clinics I'm waiting at least two months for testing/appointments. Even a mammogram is a few months out.

Actually it flipped and is trending down. Go to the website and look at the 6 week or 6 month view. https://biobot.io/data/
