It's not. Omicron was just the worst runny nose I've ever had, but this is a total non-event. Only knew something was wrong because I had a fever.

and some of us felt bad for 2 weeks and tested positive just as long. There is no one experience.

Again, why should I suffer mentally, emotionally, and financially because of this? I was forced to destroy my life to "protect you". What have you done to support me?

It really sounds like you had some underlying issues that you had neglected to resolve before COVID brought them to the forefront. I don't know why else you'd have such a tough time dealing with COVID restrictions, while everyone else has put up with them just fine.

By this logic I shouldn’t GAF about the “underlying issues” that are still making you try to control other people’s behavior now.

You realize you are controlling others behavior.

Montgomery, Prince George’s, and Howard County are currently at high community spread as of this week, increased from the previous weeks.

And yet deaths have been flat since March, as the initial Omicron wave subsided. Similarly, ICU admissions have been fairly flat.

So, a lot of people are getting Covid, but people don’t seem to be getting particularly sick from it.

Lots of people are getting pretty sick from it.

Then they get better.

Kind of like the flu. Did we mask every winter before covid? Did we kick healthy kids out of school simply because they happened to sit next to someone that came down with the flu? Did we regularly test kids that weren’t showing any symptoms for the flu?

Not comparable but more reason to mask.

If your life is destroyed it’s probably because you have intense psych issues you won’t address. Your responses to people are abnormal. Let me guess, you’re the one whose kids also have no life or interests and instead of helping them you’ve decided to just blame it on schools forever.

The congestion symptoms and muscle aches go away but for me I was left with kidney damage. Others get POTS.

I’m reading this and getting worried.
I’m be been in a small Eastern European town since end June where there’s zero talk about Covid. I am getting worried returning to the US.

Np. While I think I agree with your opinion of Covid precautions, I disagree that you can compare it to flu season. Covid is more prevalent than the flu. Covid cases outnumber flu cases during flu season and it's more contagious.

I don't think that means we need to be ultra cautious anymore. I didn't test my symptom free son when I had Covid. But a month earlier I did test him when he had symptoms because we were going to be around elderly grandparents and traveling.

Just pointing out that just because one county is low, it doesn’t mean it’s not around.

It’s no worse than any of the previous Covid waves. It may be more contagious, but most people aren’t getting hospitalized or anything (although it can be very unpleasant for a few days).

Honestly - the small Eastern European town probably has as much Covid spread as the US. Just people in this area of the US specifically are Covid-crazy.

This is a weird DC obsession. Much/most of the rest of the country returned to normal/or new normal legitimately at least a year ago.
