NP Sure it is. I receive chemo weekly. I am immunocompromised. I will wear my N95 when necessary, and I fully expect non immunocompromised to go about their daily lives. We are waaay past 2020 people. |
any research out there on whether it's worth it for teens to get the booster with this new variant? |
Exactly this. We are back to living our lives but are trying not to get sick at the same time. I wear a mask grocery shopping, but not when visiting with friends. I mask in airports, but not when outside. I choose to eat outside if it's a reasonable option. I choose outdoor concerts and hikes over crowded indoor venues or playplaces. I know so many people who have gotten covid every month or two in 2022 and who then feel really crappy for several weeks if not longer. It's worth taking basic precautions to try not to get sick. I'm not in 2020 lockdown. But I'm not pretending covid doesn't exist either. It's super contagious and rates are still high. I don't want to lose several weeks of my summer home sick. Go ahead and tell me it's endemic again. That doesn't mean I want to get sick. |
I don’t believe you. If you were really on chemo, you’d know that your N95 is nowhere near full protection for the newest strains of Omicron. Not even close. |
Yes, you’re lazy and self-involved about COVID. We get it. Message received. |
Hint: Per a microbiologist at Scripps, B.A.5 is “the worst variant we’ve had yet.” |
I had covid on the 2nd week of June. Could it be BA5? It is very transmissible, spread through friends and family quickly and symptoms started at day 2 since exposure.
Symptoms are also not as light as Dec/January variant. It includes severe sore throught, malaise, chills, fever(on some people), congestion, cough and cold and extreme tiredness, makes you feel sleepy all day long for at least 3 days. I fully recovered and sometimes I still feel like I tire easily, and this rings true to a majority of friend and family who got it. |
I don’t care if you believe me. Just today, my oncologist said “go out. Do things. You don’t need to live in a bubble. Go to a restaurant. Only mask in crowded indoor spaces.” I am 100% fine with my N95. Doesn’t change things because you don’t believe me. Please, people, live you’re lives! Don’t let PP hold you back. |
I have not seen any but the hope is an updated vaccine in the fall. But, they promised one last spring and it did not happen. |
Ooooodf. I can feel myself getting stupider for having read this comment. You should post on a conspiracy theory forum instead of here, where most people listen what actual board certified doctors say about vaccination. |
So, you’re traipsing around and getting sick twice in one month and lecturing others about their actions? Ok cuckoo. If you’re running around getting sick anyway, why lock your kids up and make them into antisocial weirdos? You’re kids are playing a price alright…a price for mommy’s mental illness. |
Don’t bother, they never have an answer to the entirely reasonable question of “what should we reasonably do at this point.” Some people just want to come on here and complain and wring their hands. |
Yes it is. It is called "stealth" because you don't test positive. |
At this point the level of denial and insistence on running back into the buzz saw of these COVID waves can only be understood as a form of collective trauma response. You think you’re “moving on” but you’re actually performing a kind of dissociation. It’s so sad to watch. |
Way to pathologize people simply living their lives and doing normal things. |
