LOL

Sometimes all-powerful governments can do good things.

You missed that they first aggressively didn’t allow anyone to discuss it for several weeks, while the virus and people spread.

I’ll guess that in two weeks Trump will restrict most air travel from China

Yeah, but they have really stepped it up now.

It doesn't really matter now. It's already too late.

He can’t. The press will say he’s trying to distract the American people away from impeachment by fear mongering. Bad optics.

I don’t think so.

Wow, just watched the video that PP posted. Pretty interesting stuff. It must be pretty scary for some of them in Wuhan.

When watching compilation videos like this, I have to remember that Wuhan alone has over 11 million people. Hubei has maybe 60 million people. I bet this isn't happening at every street corner or apartment complex but instead scattered through immense cities.

Hong Kong scientists now estimate that there are approximately 44,000 cases in Wuhan based on statistical modeling of the virus. At present, the confirmed number is 2,800 as of Monday, with the death toll at 81

The team’s model predicted the number of infections in five mainland megacities – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Chongqing – would peak between late April and early May.

But Leung added that their projections could be too pessimistic as they only took into account lockdown measures in Wuhan and not other health intervention policies.
Leung, who sits on Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor’s advisory committee on the coronavirus, called for drastic measures to curb the spread of the virus.

“Substantial, draconian measures limiting population mobility should be taken immediately,” he said, calling for the cancellation of mass gatherings, along with school closures and work-from-home arrangements.

That’s no good. Flights coming in from those cities everyday. If I were there I would immediately book a trip here for a few weeks. If sick the US hospitals will help.

The 5th person to be diagnosed is a student at my DD's university.

The 4th person to be diagnosed lives in my same area of California.

Many probably had very mild cases that looked like a regular cold or a mild case of the flu. Unless they went in and got officially diagnosed, they won’t count, except in estimates.
