Jessica Simpson on her alcoholism: Today Show

The truth has finally come out. All those out-of-it interviews and slurring on her HSN segment... she was wasted. Boozing out of a glitter cup from early in the morning until she passed out in the evenings. Crazy. Would love to hear her husband’s perspective on all this. Like is he a big boozer too? Or was he frustrated by this all along?

She has a book coming out soon, “Open Book”. I’m actually very interested in reading it. She was also sexually abused at young age (if I’m remembering correctly), and put on diet pills as a teen.

I find it disgusting that she’s timing and publicizing her getting sober to launch her book. She’s all over the media outlets now with the whole drinking and getting sober thing, being so candid about how impaired and irresponsible she was being as a mother and she’s getting so much attention for it it’s quite disturbing.
I even saw on people.com a couple of days ago the main page obviously had the Kobe stories at the top and then what JS had to say about his death. WTF? Why would anyone care? I will always be happy for a mother who gets sober and better for her kids, for herself and for her family. But she’s clearly using the abuse she went through, years of eating disorders and alcoholism to promote herself and her book and propel this come back she’s attempting.

That’s exactly the point of interviews, to promote books and movies.

Jessica was born into a family that fractured her mind and body when she was very young. It's not a coincidence all the Simpson kids ended up famous.

The price of fame is not worth what you have to do for it. Makes me so grateful to God I was born a nobody and will die a nobody.
