I have no ideal why anyone of them want anything to do with the jerk.

I bet Nick called out her dad on his, alleged, sleaziness back when they were married. It was him verse "them" which ended in a divorce sadly. He was good for her , but she was too caught up in own self and listening to Papa Simpson show casing her boobs and her vocal talent. And her sister Ashley really faltered too.

I agree. Nick likely had no respect/tolerance for her dad and his shenanigans. I bet that tension between Joe and Nick was way more divisive for their marriage than being on a reality show ever was.

I hope she can get sober or at least learn to moderate.

I knew a mom who was apparently drinking quite a bit, all the time. She'd feel bad about it and stop, and then start up again when stress/life pressure got to her. Doing that is pretty bad for the body, apparently, and she died last year, leaving a devastated husband and young kids.

I got a preview copy from her publisher. It's a compelling read and she was smart to work with someone to craft the story. It's all in all, a bit sad considering how people view her as a person.

Her father was hypocritical trash. He was a right wing evangelical "preacher" who in middle age came out of the closet and is chasing twinks in West Hollywood.

Jessica is doing a true public service by coming out as a child sexual assault survivor and as an alcoholic mom. Yes it’s clear from this most recent interview that she’s not totally healed and recovered yet. But she’s trying. She’s doing in the work, it sounds like. Try to be kind and root for her. This is very hard stuff.

Well, recovery is rarely perfectly linear or perfect. Sounds like she’s had a period of sobriety. She may have relapsed or she may have taken something prescribed to her for the show; it can’t be easy to come out about these struggles to “the world”. It could also be the side effects of medication (Buspar Can cause speech problems), or a symptom of an underlying mental illness. That being said, she’s never really been super articulate.
