I thought the same thing. I've always heard/read that some "experimentation" between kids that age is pretty normal/typical. I know my friends and I did. One friend in particular was slightly older than me (about a year) and more..."dominant" but 40 years later, it's never occurred to me to consider that "sexual abuse."

I thought the same thing! But I thought I'd get shredded if I posted that.

I wonder if she cops to any of her cheating in the book? Bam Margera famously said he had sex with her at her and nick's house while he was out of town.

She says she and Johnny Knoxville exchanged love letters (while she was married) but did not hook up. Hmmm.

It also says she exchanged love letters with John Mayer before the divorce too. Who knew she was such an interesting pen pal.

Here are the next three on my list:

1. Adam Rippon
2. Andrea Barber
3. Jessica Simpson

Tell me more! What are some of your favorites? One of my new year's resolutions was more guilty pleasures in my reading!

Hmmm .... here's what stands out:

Good: Brad Goreski, Andy Cohen, Chelsea Handler's latest, Kathy Griffin, Ross Matthews, Cameron Diaz, Rob Lowe, Mindy Kaling (both), Trevor Noah, Leah Remini, Carole Raziwill (biography), Amy Schumer, Bethenny Frankel (they make you want to cook healthy, do yoga and earn money)
Bad: Gary Janetti, Snooki, Caroline Manzo, Lauren Graham, Lena Dunham (one I couldn't finish), Brandi Glanville (another I couldn't finish), Carole Radziwill (fiction)
Eh: Drew Barrymore's latest, Gabourey Sidibe, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman (both were really boring and it was like they were just reciting facts/stats), Teresa Guidice (the one after she got out of prison)

Did read Demi Moore's?

I am picking it up from the library tonight after work. I will give a full report. Maybe I'll just start a thread called "I Read Books Celebrities Author So You Don't Have To" and provide book reports each time I've finished a few.

Please do this!

PP has read a lot of really good ones! Agree with Andy Cohen, Rob Lowe (both of them), Trevor Noah and Leah Remini. Would also add Sally Field's from last year which was fantastic. And I also couldn't finish Lena Dunham's even though I actually like her.

Interesting - I don’t particularly like Lena Dunham but I was surprised to like her memoir. I also really liked Busy Philipps, Issa Rae, and Ali Wong

Yes it’s clear from this most recent interview that she’s not totally healed and recovered yet. But she’s trying. She’s doing in the work, it sounds like. Try to be kind and root for her. This is very hard stuff.

yeah it must be truly hard to be a millionaire alcoholic mom.

For those who have read the book...does she mention Ken Paves, her former longtime hairstylist? That’s the relationship about which I’m most curious.

Oh, wow, I totally forgot about their split. I just googled and found this:

Jessica Simpson & her gay BFF Ken Paves' split gets nasty & hilarious
https://www.celebitchy.com/118491/jessica_simpson_her_gay_bff_ken_paves_split_gets_nasty_hilarious/

"Isn’t this one of the most hilariously bitchy pieces you’ve ever read? To the cut about Jessica’s drinking habits (AND MARGARITAS), "

Well that was certainly spot on.

I just googled - looks like he made a sweet comment on insta after her last baby was born, so looks like they are at least connected on social and on pleasant speaking terms after ending their professional relationship.

She is feeble minded and someone has suggested she play this angle up to sell her trashy book.
Awful. Any tiny grain of respect I may have inadvertently held for her, has evaporated. It completely undermines any actual sexual abuse that others have experienced. What a stupid, fat anti-feminist she is.

Simpson seems drunk in every interview discussing her book. She basically blames everyone else for everything but makes up excuses for the cheating she did to Nick Lachey. I really don’t like her.

I don't know about seeming drunk, but isn't coming off well. She said: Nick & Vanessa gave her a gift; they said no we didn't; now she says that they never gave her a gift. Ok, maybe Hoda messed that up. But she said: Justin Timberlake kissed her then texted Ryan Gosling about a tween bet they'd made; they said that didn't happen. She talks about how mad she was at Nick for saying he wouldn't miss her father playing grab ass with him at Easter. But it sounds like her father really WAS doing that, so her anger seems misplaced.

Her escalating drinking seems to have coincided with her marriage, but she doesn't address that. She promoted a weight loss plan (and was paid millions to do so) but it turns out she was taking diet pills all along. She doesn't address that. Her revelations seem tame and don't seem to tell the whole story.

Rich white trash, 20 years removed from her physical prime. She's desperate for attention.

Nick really dodged a bullet. He always seemed too good for her tbh.
