+1. What a joke to be promoting sobriety while being f’d up. She’s loaded on something in that interview for sure.

Holy crap. Usually I think people exaggerate about these things but she is definitely loaded. Maybe it’s on purpose so she can write her follow up book, even more open book

Nah, she seemed nervous at first but calmed down 1/2 way through interview.

Oh, I watched it and also thought it was just bad Botox and/or fillers making her talk funny. Didn’t seem like drugs to me

She seemed better on Kimmel, other than trying to say Denzel Washington. It seemed like she had sort of rehearsed what to say, because Jimmy asks her about taping her eyebrows and she starts talking about something else.

Tell me more! What are some of your favorites? One of my new year's resolutions was more guilty pleasures in my reading!

Hmmm .... here's what stands out:

Good: Brad Goreski, Andy Cohen, Chelsea Handler's latest, Kathy Griffin, Ross Matthews, Cameron Diaz, Rob Lowe, Mindy Kaling (both), Trevor Noah, Leah Remini, Carole Raziwill (biography), Amy Schumer, Bethenny Frankel (they make you want to cook healthy, do yoga and earn money)
Bad: Gary Janetti, Snooki, Caroline Manzo, Lauren Graham, Lena Dunham (one I couldn't finish), Brandi Glanville (another I couldn't finish), Carole Radziwill (fiction)
Eh: Drew Barrymore's latest, Gabourey Sidibe, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman (both were really boring and it was like they were just reciting facts/stats), Teresa Guidice (the one after she got out of prison)

Did read Demi Moore's?

Oh geez. I agree that she's not super smart, and possibly high, but she also seems more self-aware than I would have thought. And she seems like an essentially kind person. I hope she figures it all out!

Yeah I would have a little more respect if she admitted to the years of rampant cocaine use. Instead she’s only revealing the addictions that could garner sympathy which feels both disingenuous and like a publicity stunt.

From Blind Gossip

This singer is trying to sell a project, too. So, of course, she is spilling secrets about her life to stir up interest.
However, our Singer left out one very, very big secret! The coke.

We’re not talking about an occasional bump at parties. Our Singer lived for the white powder for years and years. It elevated her mood, it helped her with her weight, it gave her energy to perform. She wasn’t alone, either. She and her husband both love the white stuff. So our Singer did talk about the booze and the pills. However, they weren’t the biggest problem. The biggest problem was the coke. Strange that she didn’t come clean about the powder!

Her book is heartbreaking. She suffered abuse, a terrible family that embraced hypocritically values, and was not equipped to mentally withstand everything she's gone through. I do think her mother's decision to take the fashion brand and build it to a billion dollar empire was genius, but her father is trash and trashed his children's lives. I have no ideal why anyone of them want anything to do with the jerk.

Typical child star stuff.

Well, yeah, but she didn't choose any of it.

If you look at earlier interviews or even watched Newlyweds, she's always spoken this way. She's not bright and sort of mumbles and stumbles to figure out what she wants to say. Pretty much a literal dumb blonde lol.

She came into the public eye around the same time as Britney Spears, who is also widely known for being very simple, and these days, fairly medicated. I feel like watching the two of them have a conversations with each other would be hilarious. Yes, I know I'm a terrible person.

Britney has never been bright but these days she's so medicated I don't think she knows what's going on around her. It's frightening.

Agree that Britney is like a zombie. It’s creepy.

Who? Jessica? She has been sober for 2 years (allegedly, at least according to her new autobiography)

I think this is what she is genuinely like. Sort of ditzy and idiotic but overall trying to do the right thing.

I am picking it up from the library tonight after work. I will give a full report. Maybe I'll just start a thread called "I Read Books Celebrities Author So You Don't Have To" and provide book reports each time I've finished a few.
