I have always been very happy with Jansport. Their backpacks have a lifetime warranty and they mean it! I bought my first backpack from them in HS and it lasted about 8-10 yrs. I sent it to them when the fabric started ripping and they sent me a new one. Fast forward 10 more yrs when the zipper on my backpack started separating and they just sent mine back to me with a brand new zipper. I'll never buy another backpack again.

A few years ago I bought a stroller at Kate Spade in Georgetown. While in the store I had a casual conversation with the clerk about the stroller, kids, etc. About a week later I received a personalized handwritten thank you note for the purchase, also referencing the conversation. I was pretty blown away!

Costco is amazing- we have saved way over the $50 membership fee in Rogaine and Turbotax alone, but they will accept anything for a return and don't require a receipt.

We got a tv home and I realized I didn't like it, took it back, no restocking fee.

Also they do free extended warranties on electronics.

rejuvenation.com for lighting. They specialize in period lighting, so are a great resource if you have an older house and want something in a victorian, art deco, etc. style. They are based in the Pacific northwest and have a really knowledgeable telephone sales staff. And a good returns policy.

LL Bean. They take anything back no matter how long ago purchased or how much used.

It doesn't have to be in re-sellable condition?

A friend called Pottery Barn Kids to buy the conversion kit for her 5 year old crib. They told her it wasn't available because the crib had been recalled. She had to disassemble it, but they sent a shipper to her house to pick it up and gave her a credit for the original purchase price (her late MIL had purchased it, and they were able to find a record of the purchase. I believe if she had purchased it herself she would have had a refund).
